I just put in a drop in k&n filter. Is it supposed to make a kinda loud humming noise?

 

I don't know about the filter, but my short ram with the k&n cone shaped filter does that.

 

I have the K&N drop-in and have no new noise at all. Check to see if you accidentally popped the resonator out while you moved around the air box (its the plastic thingy that hangs from the flex tube connecting the box to the intake). Make sure you created no other leaks at either end of the hose and that the the cover to the air filter is securely fastened.. good luck.

Make sure the you snuggled the filter nicelyin the box.

 

It won't make any noise,unless you remove the(air box)which is just under your air filter box.It will make nice and deep sound when the vetc kicks in.But i am not sure will you kill the engine by doing this.Any one can answer this?? (sorry about my english,hope you can understand)

 

no new noise here. only time i hear it is when i turn off the car, i hear a hissing sound for about 1 sec.

 

Don't drive like your grandmouther(J/K).I'm sure there is more deep noise if you drive hard.

 

I found out what the noise was. I didn't lock the cover for the filter properly. I don't notice any kind of peformance gain, maybe I'll get a cai.
