Also, no one with comptech headers were able to put out the same gains comptech's dyno showed.

No one? I went from 190 stock to 223 with the Icebox and Comptech headers

190 stock sounds a wee bit low. i dyno'd about 201 stock IIRC. my megans and AEM CAI dyno'd 218.3 or so @ peak. what kind of dyno were you on?

pretty much all the header dynos i have seen on here showed a 17-22hp gain. now there are one or two people who have claimed 25-30whp, but i never personally talked with them to ask about their mods or to see their dyno sheets.

that 12-15 at the flywheel estimation is a typo in my opinion, or a miscommunication if someone said it on the phone. i've never seen a header give 8-10 at the wheels. that would be a complete waste of time and money IMO.

but it isn't really that bad.

i expected to hear more noise.
they OEM are cast iron...for quietness amd smoothness.
we put thin walled stainles tubing inplace of thick cast iron.
u gotta expect some noise.

i doubt that the comptechs are as quiet as the OEM iron manifolds.

right?.
I have the same problem but mines different bc I have a rattling noise in the header instead of a wooshing sound. I could deal with that one but the rattling is making me want to put the stock header back on. It started right after installation and has continually got louder.

25% Drivetrain loss on the automatic

260hp - 25% = 195whp

Once supercharged the car made 295whp which is the highest a 5AT has every dyno'd with the Comptech supercharger so it isn't like my car was just weak from the factory.

All dyno pulls were done at the same shop on the same dyno

i agree with you about high drive train losses ranging 20-25% on an automatic, but it still seems as if 190 is low. that would put you around 27% loss, which sounds a bit much. i would be willing to bet your dyno ran a little low and you were actually running more power stock. i think the fact your car ran 295 after a s/c install may back up my point. of course i do realize every transmission can be different.

what other mods did you have on when you did the s/c? i'm assuming you used a high boost pulley? how was driveability on the car at that power level?

i just think the numbers are off somewhere on the dyno. i remember when i ran my dyno the guy running it said the mustang dyno's read low. i believe my exact number was 198 (i have to go back and look through my old post) but he surmised it should be around 201 or so.

How would the 295whp dyno back up your point that the dyno was reading low? That the HIGHEST anyone has posted for a 5AT on this site. By some 20-30whp depending on who you compare it to.

Headers/cat-back exhaust/cooling mods/springs/struts/tires

Drives great. My new CL-S makes over 300whp on stock exhaust.

A dyno is only an estimate. Many Many Many variables can change what the car will put down. On my 295 pull I did 289 2 minutes before the 295 with no changes.

i think that dynoing 295 proves you did not have a weak car from the factory. if you did then you more than likely would have dyno'd lower with those modifications, therefore, having a stock dyno of 190 (which is lower than stock output) would mean the dyno was reading low or conditions were not favorible that day. granted it's only *marginally* lower. you don't agree?

well, reliability-wise i would expect you would be ok, but did you have alot of issues keeping traction or with wheel hop or anything? i've been debating on going to directional tires since i plan on buying the S/C but if it's only going to make things marginally better then i wouldn't want to bother spending the money.

ps - keep in mind i'm not trying to get people worked up with these posts. just engaging in some friendly conversation.

Has anyone installed their batch 4 headers yet? I am curious as to if the resonance problem has been finally fixed
