Just rear section of body kit?

Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone has just the rear piece of the oem body kit installed. Will it line up with the stock side skirts or will it be off (lower)? I like the rear piece a lot and would love to get rid of my mud guards. I'm also going to be lowering the car (springs) and I think the full body kit would rub too much on the terrible roads in D.C. and on top of that I don't have the $ to get the full kit. Any pics or insight would be great. Thanks!

I think it would look sort of OK with just the rear. Once you put it on, you're going to want the rest though

As far as bottoming out, I think there are other parts under the car that hang lower than the side body kit parts.

Get the whole kit. If you cant afford the whole thing buy ut 1 piece at a time then put it on. As for bottoming out, you wont hit the kit. It doesnt lower teh car. and there are many other pieces of the bottom side that would scrape first

i'm pretty sure I've read somewhere on this forum that some people get the kits molded onto their car....but I'm not really sure.

anyways, how much would it cost to get the whole kit painted and clipped on to the car?

you can mold it if you want... not necessary to put on

as for price, depends on where you go... can vary from like 300-500... as for installation you can do that yourself. theres a diy somwhere around here

it takes 4 screws through the existing bumper in the back and several others on each side. the rest is with the 3M double stick tape which is already fastened to the spoiler.

I was in the same position. I have an NBP with wing spoiler, splash guards, and side molding. I hated how the back end was so round at the bottom. I like the factory rims but the full body kit makes the stock wheels look small to me. I love how the rear kit looks. The sides are stylish, but really don't seem to make a difference. And the front kit looks great, if you change the stock rims. I added the rear underbody, in place of the rear splash guards. I left the front guards on, so the underbody of the whole car still has that flush look beneath, instead of a thick rear end and skinny sides and front. It looks pretty clean to me.

I would agree, though, that once the rear is on, you're gonna wonder how the rest will look. Maybe over time. I'll add the whole kit eventually, because all the other members with the whole kit shows how much more attractive the TL can be!

Get the whole kit. ...I don't think you will mess the kit up in dc however granted I haven't been to DC in about 2 years and I had coilovers and lowered like 2.5 inches...never missed up my original bodykit however letting people park my car and drive it...now that's a different story.

You don't happen to have a picture of your car like this you could post or PM me do you? Just from looking at the side view of other member's cars with and without the kit it looks like it would line up with the stock sides very well - I just don't want to buy the piece and have to leave it off the car because it looks stupid without the rest of the kit...
