Just polished my headlights - pics
Those of you in the Northeast know what kind of h3ll winters can be to our cars and the headlight lenses. Anyway, I got sick of looking at all the haze that had developed. I dropped into a local bike dealer and found some Novus plastic polish
I ended up using a drill with polishing wheel starting with the heavy duty #3 then stepped down to light duty #2.
It did'nt get the really deep nicks but it definately made an improvement.

How messy is that stuff to work with? I need to do it to mine. I got my car in September of 2002, my very first NEW vehicle, and well, in New England, we had a terrible winter. Figures.

Mike,
It's just like working with paint polish. Work it in with a ciecular motion and then wipe of the haze with a clean cloth.
I actually went at it again after I snapped the shots and it came out a little better. The Novus cleaner is really designed for acrylics which is softer than the headlight lenses that I believe are polycarbonate. That's why I ended up using a drill with polishing head.

Great job Iggy, the difference is very amazing. What I did with mine (and I have done this with all my cars) I use rain-x on all the outside covers (ie. rear lights, fog lights etc) and this protects them very good

I thought Rain-X is not good for some plastics (its says so ont he bottle). Are you sure its cool to use?
Just curious!
I love Rain-X and use it on all the glass surfaces on my car. Wipers suck compared to rain-x on the highway!
come to think of it, I have used rain-x on my sideview mirrors. They are not glass (I am thinking) and they have help up fine.
