6000 has a light blue tint from drivers viewpoint- still look white to oncoming
once you get to 8 or 10k you are in the land of purple

I dont care about ratings- I can SEE more THINGS on the road with the kaixen 6ks
dont know about other brands- but sure do like these

[QUOTE=01tl4tl]Dont use headlights for several hours
DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE ~~~know radio security code first-

You don't need to disconnect the battery.
So you don't have to worry about the radio code.
Just make sure the headlight is off.
As long they're off there isn't power going to the headlight.
ps: I had my headlight out twice.

I would rather give advice that is overly cautious- so no one gets zapped, than set them loose in highly dangerous electrical system

Just because YOU got away with it....

You should know your radio code anyway, and log it in your acura.com account

^ not sure I understand..... but Im assuming that you are asking if I did get it fixed.... and the answer would be yes, or if your asking if I now know how to change them.... that answer would be yes also.....

Ive taken them out numerous times..... painting headlight housings, and removing that stupid lens inside.,

When you say "as long there isn't any power running to the headlights" what exactly do you mean? Even when the lights are switched off, isn't there power running to them? Not an electrician by any means but I think I know what you mean and I just don't want to kill myself. Although I have the code I have problems with it for some reason. It's like I have to try it a million times before I get the damn radio to accept it. So I'd rather not unplug the battery cable.

Yes the reason to disconnect the power is so that you dont accidentally short it out. The HIDs have a ballast which can retain power and is very powerful. You should disconnect the power and wait a few min for any power to discharge from it.

driver side- pull the upper cover plastic and the overflow bottle if needed to gain access- then use the torx to remove the 2 funky screws
inside that cover there are the bulbs attached to a normal plug-in connector for headlights
Be very careful with the new bulbs- use rubber or latex gloves to handle
no skin oils to bulb contact allowed!!!!

if not using D2R the oe standard- if they are the universal D2S- be careful not to twist the bulb as you install
the oe bulbs had a detent that lined them up- some replacements dont- so note position of external rod on bulb as you remove- install new one same- no twisting
NOTE the bulb assembly is held in by a 1 armed spring clip- needle nose pliers help to grab- unlock and release that- dont break- vital for assembly
Place bulb in socket, spring clip- connector- TEST- cover - done
10-20 minutes max
01tl4tl,

Well, I was successful in replacing the bulbs thanks to you...However, the bad news is that my right passenger headlight still doesn't work. The other does and I really like the purplish light. So what now??? Based on the other threads I read, this means my ballast is not functioning, right??

Can you help me with this? Is it easy to replace or do I have to go to the dealership?

run the new bulbs all the time when driving- takes about 100 hours of use to get "burned in"

solid:
did you try swapping the bulbs left to right?
If still the same, LIKELY ballast- find on black market here or junkyard
You remove the headlight housing unit and its attached under that as I recall
