Just installed Philips Ultinon 6000k's TAKE A LOOK!!
Hey, I actually installed these about a week ago, but I'm just getting around to posting pics. These are pics of the install (left headlight is stock, right headlight is 6000k) and I just took these so all you guys can compare. If I get around to it, I'll snap some pics of both 6000k's which are in, tonight. Hopefully I can get the pics to work
Oh, and yes, I know that my hood is partially open

Wow.. big difference between standard and 6000k.
I have 8000k on my tl and the color is too purple/pinkish and one of them burned out after 2 months, so looking for a set of 6000k philips ultinon bulbs. Where did you get your bulbs and for how much? how's quality compare to stock?
thanks
p.s. = great pictures.

Damn they look way brighter than stock. But are they actually brighter in terms of light on the road? I see it as 6000k being a nicer color than 4100k but 4100k should give the best light output but looking more yellowish white. I love the 6000k color though...Please take some pictures of the light output on the road somewhere with no street lights. Great choice on the bulbs nonetheless.

I guess it was a wise investment?

Actually, as far as illumination, it doesn't get any better than 4100-4300k. 6000k is minimal loss of useful light for the added color, but stock is better for illumination.

Can yo help me out with replacing my Headlights?? I have been searching throughout this forum and I haven't found any posting detailed enough. For example, when I open my hood there is a bunch of crap blocking access to the driver's side headlight. I need to know what I can remove and how to access the bulb. Also, I bought the tamper-proof torx screwdriver. Will I need anything else. I am currently away from my home (and tools) but I need to get this bulb replaced asap before I go on my long road trip back home.. Please pm me...Please....

Dont use headlights for several hours
DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE ~~~know radio security code first-
driver side- pull the upper cover plastic and the overflow bottle if needed to gain access- then use the torx to remove the 2 funky screws
inside that cover there are the bulbs attached to a normal plug-in connector for headlights
Be very careful with the new bulbs- use rubber or latex gloves to handle
no skin oils to bulb contact allowed!!!!
if not using D2R the oe standard- if they are the universal D2S- be careful not to twist the bulb as you install
the oe bulbs had a detent that lined them up- some replacements dont- so note position of external rod on bulb as you remove- install new one same- no twisting
NOTE the bulb assembly is held in by a 1 armed spring clip- needle nose pliers help to grab- unlock and release that- dont break- vital for assembly
Place bulb in socket, spring clip- connector- TEST- cover - done
10-20 minutes max

I will install them as soon as I get my new bulbs. I purchased Kaixen 6500K....Based on my reading other threads, it is highly recommended, right?
