Just Installed My Tranny Cooler. Quick Question...
OK, so i installed a hayden tranny cooler i've had in my garage for 2 years. i was supposed to put it on my taurus SHO when i still owened it. it's the same model comptech offers (also offered as a B&M product). added about 1 quart of Mobil 1 tranny fluid on top of it in the end.
installation went smooth for the most part. the annoying part was getting the clips off the stock tranny hose. everything mounted up nicely, took about 11ft of tubing.
my tranny fill bolt was on tight as hell though. i actually sheared a 3/4 inch ratchet extension trying to get it off. so then i went to sears and bought a 7 inch craftsman extension for my 1/2 breaker bar and the bolt popped right out with a little force.
with the engine/tranny cold i added 1 quart of fluid which came to a hair above the lower fill line (i had lost about 1/4 quart when i ran the engine to find out which was the send and which was the return).
i figured this would expand at normal operating temperature but when i checked it out this evening at normal OT, it was very difficult to determine how full it was.
so hear is my question....how much fluid did you guys have to put in to have your tranny back at full? keep in mind i added about 3/4 of a quart and it was just a hair above the lower fill mark on the dipstick when everything was cold.
thanks in advance.

That sounds about right. I don't remember exactly how much I put in mine, I just told myself I'd fill it till it's enough. I've got the B&M 16k unit.
I've 1 or 2 extra quarts of Honda ATF in my garage.
