Cool Just installed catz fogs

It wasn't as easy as I thought. That dang bolt was hard to reach but after doing the first side it was a piece of cake. I've got pictures of both stock and the catz. In the picture its hard to really see a difference but in person it's quite noticeable.

the pics are here

Question Question about Catz Fogs?

Hi,

I have the Catz Galaxy White 9006 Fogs on order for my TL-S. I assume these are the CATZ fogs you installed.

Where is this infamous screw you are referring to? Did you have to get underneath the car? Let me know details if you could.

Nice pics. Looks like a fairly good match to the HID headlights and about 100% better than the stock ones at least.

Thanks-

the easiest way is find a road (driveway) with an angle that can get your front tilt up, get underneath the car, use a flat head screw driver to pop off the plastic cap/screws. stick your hand in there, disconnect your light bulb from the wire, turn the light bulb and remove it....piece a cake...took me like 5 minutes to do the whole thing..only hold back could be the bulbs could be screwed in pretty tight.

You need to take pics without the flash. From the pics you took, I don't see any difference between the stock and the catz fogs you installed.

I'm still an Authorized CATZ distributor from my days as CLUB SOL president. If anyone wants CATZ lights, I'll get em to you drop shipped fo my price + shipping +$5 for them to ship them right to you.

Note: My price (dealer price) is WAY under what you pay retail

Yes they are the Galaxy White Fogs.

The bolt (there is only one to unscrew) is up under the front air dam. You have to get under the car to get a good angle to reach it. I popped about three fasteners loose and bent the plastic shields out of the way so I could get a socket to it. I did jack up the car but that was just so I could get my big head under there to see what I was doing. After locating that bolt I was fine. After unscrewing the bolt, I just pushed the whole light assembly out and disconnected the bulb.

Hmm, never even thought about turning the flash off on the picture. Well I can take one of the catz with the flash off and see how that looks tonight.

y2ks2k - I wish I had known that before I ordered them. However I may get the catz high beams, I'll let you know.

Unhappy I wish I knew that too.

I already have ordered them from another source. Had I known I would have come to you.

Yup, these are the ones I went with too..... they match pretty darn well. I installed mine using the manual. If you have any question as to how to get to the fogs, just look in the book.... there's a section for lights, and it tells you how to remove the fogs and replace the bulb. Took me about 5-10 min. tops.....

Juniorbean - yeah i looked at your site and followed your recommendation for the catz. I was about to go with the PIAA's.

Funny it only took you 5-10 minutes. it took me about an hour, LOL! but that's because i was looking for the right size socket or wrench for that darn bolt.

Honestly, it took me 5 min. alone to find a long enough rachet for to reach. Once I found that... it only took about 5 min. to do the swap!!

Some one post the model and type of CATZ lights you are buying and I can get you the "secret" price. Please don’t talk about this to anyone because CATZ does not want distributors selling for dealer price if you know what I mean. On that note, if you guys are using the stock wiring, like I did for the del Sol AUX lights, all you have to buy the units and mounts themselves without all the wires and switches, this saves you another $50.

To add to this: I am NOT an active seller of CATZ lights any more, meaning I am not a business selling these lights to you. I would not make a profit, I am not in it to make a profit. If this turns out to be something that might do well, I would consider turning into FOR profit on them and pay the board advertising. If anyone does get these from me at dealer price I would expect you help me do this if it ever went that far (aka.. say good things about me).

I sold over 20 MSC units to CLUB SOL members at my price to replace the stock AUX lights on the del Sol. This was an EXCELLENT mod.

Hey TypeSDragon,

taking the photo without the flash was the right thing to do. Now I have it posted. It looks much better and you can see how well the catz work with the hid's. Thanks for the tip

10mm ratchet with extension. Takes ~5 min. per side. to remove bolt, take out housing, change light, and reassemble.

please don't say that about the high beams. I was thinking about doing those next. Why are they so hard to do?

Talking I just installed my Catz Fogs too!

It took me about an hour to fully do the install. I used a 10mm socket and a rachet with about a 6" extender piece on it. That part was easy. I found getting the light housings out to be the real problem. They don't just "pop" out! I had to pry them out carefully. That was the real time consuming piece. I put the CATZ 9006 Galaxy White bulbs in. Screwed in the bolt again. AND I was amazed at how close the fogs resemble the headlights now. I say it is about a 90% match as compared to the 25% match of the OEM ones. Even my car dysfunctional wife, lol, said they were a better match, more white, and brighter. I thank all of you and Juniorbean in suggesting these replacement bulbs out to me. NEXT, onto the Comptech Sway Bars,,,Hoo-Rahhhhh!!!!:p

Are you talking about the CATZ True HID bulbs: DI-H96 9006? I can get these at my price for $525 retail MSRP is listed at $800-$850 (over the counter they suggest $700).

Note: These are TRUE HID Bulbs.

If I had the money, I would sure like to have the true HID bulbs!

I have AT&T cable so any replies to me via email probably wont work for a while.

The driver's side high-beam is the hardest. You have to take out the radiator reserve tank, clear some wires out, and probably take off the battery cover too (I did, but depending how small your hands are...) to get enough room to access the light socket. A small screwdriver helps too, but I needed to use a wrench on top of that to get enough torque for the first few rotations.. I guess if I had the right tools then it wouldnt have been such a pain in the a$$.
