Question just got my H&R sports springs...have questions..

hello,
i just got my H&R sports springs and have some questions.

i bought H&R sports springs for TL 02-up, the item number for the springs is HR-50103. on the box, it says clearly that the item number is HR-50103 and is for TL 02-up. however, i opened the box, and the written numbers on the springs are saying that they are 51858. im coufused. the colors are different too. front ones are black, and rear ones are gray. the item number on the gray ones is 51858.55R. Front ones are 51858 F. is this supposed to be right?

thx.

just called H&R..

i just called H&R, and they said that i got the right parts. they said that they found the combination with sports springs in the front and oe springs in the rear is the perfact setup for the TL, and told me that it will give 1.75F/1.50R drop. but, both are for accord, using accord sports in the front and accord oe springs in the rear. i think its BS. they wouldn't change the springs for me either because i ordered the right parts. im returning the springs and paying for the 20% restocking fee and SH. dang it. i talked to both the option auto salon and H&R, but they don't want to exchange them for me...

yup, just ordered mine from this site and I hope they dont put their $.02 in and send what "they" think is the perfect drop for my car instead of the 1.75 drop all around.

yo seriously i would say i dont care if thats what you THINK is best for my car, thats not what i ordered... if you ordered the H&R sports, you should get H&R sports (not a combination that they think is better). i would complain to the better business bureau about that

oh...

if you ordered item number 50103, then you will get the same springs that i got. i called H&R springs, and they told me that they put in 51858 F (part number for sports springs for accord)/ 51858.55 R (part number for OE springs for accord), but thing is that the OE springs that they put in are made after 11/2001, and they are not actually OE for accords.. that's what they told me. but, it will have the "rake" look. donno, i just don't like the idea of using different parts. just got the RMA number to return them, paying 20% restocking fee and shipping. i don't know what to do now, should i just order H&R sports for 99-01 or comptech springs?? man, i have to start all over. so, be aware that H&R sports springs (02-up) will also give the "rake" look like comptech springs, maybe it will have MORE "rake" look since it will go lower in the front with sports springs.

BBB? nah...

the guys at H&R were really trying to help me out, but the thing is that they can not exchange the springs if the item was not shipped from them. they told me to call Option Auto Salon, which i bought the springs from. the guys at Option Auto Salon were telling me that they can not exchange the springs after they talked to H&R and found that's WHAT I ACTUALLY ORDERED. i can't blame either of them. it's just that i didn't know they actually changed the parts in the box for 02-up TL's. oh well.. they were telling to just install the springs and look, but i said "hells no, are you crazy, are you guys paying for the labor?"
yep...

Angry damn it

i thought about it, and getting more pissed off. i called H&R again, told them to advertise the springs as 2 sports springs and 2 OE springs in one box. they are just saying that "we as suspension specialists, we thought that the combination was the best for TL's". and basically told me that 2 sports and 2 OE's are now offically H&R SPORTS springs. i told them, "why do you guys have OE, sports, and race springs then? i thought they were made all differently." at that point he tranfered my call to the supervisor WITHOUT telling him about my sistuation, and i had to explain all over for him.. and, he was saying, " we as suspension specialists...blah blah..." what the fu k?

just submitted complaint through BBB.org.
subject: Wrong advertisement..

we will see.

Wow, that sucks. Especially for not telling their customers before doing it. They should at least give you the option of exchanging them for the actual rear Sports springs.

Good luck.

I'm probably getting my H&R Sports soon, right after I upgrade my amp and get some money together. I'll probably get the same springs as you, but I do have subs in a heavy box in the trunk, so it might actually help me. The stock suspension went down by about half an inch after I put the box in.
