Just got my 99TL could use some opinions

Sup guys this is my first post. Well I just got my 99TL. Blk on Blk with navi, cd changer. The interior is mint, the engine runs smooth and quiet, the tranny just got rebuilt before i got it. Now for the bad news the exterior has a couple of small dings and 126K!!! I think i got a good deal tho $8994 out the door with a full tank of gas. What you guys think?

The first thing i want to do is drop it. I heard of people dropping without getting shocks just springs. I want to go this route just because it would save me a lot of money and money i want to use for an oem kit. I was thinking about H&R or tein. Which one would be good without getting shocks?

imo you should never upgrade springs if you arent gonna do shocks, just something your gonna ahve to do down the road, which will cost more labor money, if you arent going to do shocks all i would do is H&R OE springs which is a minimal .75" drop

H&R Sport Springs(part # 50103 No matter what they tell you 50103 are the ones to get for all 2nd gen TL and TL-S)

there I gave you some pics of it on my old99.. and I drove for a year and a half, through winter too, without shocks or camber kit and I didn't have a problem at all.

As FiftyFive said, if your gonna drop it you should do it right the first time. I've experienced this first hand with my 94 Accord. Went the spring route and a year later the shocks died, had to spit out more money for labour and part. You might save now, but later down the route you will need to replace the shocks, unless your not planning to keep the car for long.

Are you talking about the silver plate where you switch gears on the tranny?

If so mine is silver. Looks like siver paint and starting to crack up. I hope this is what your talking about.

** also if it is, how do you take the plate off? Do I need to take off the whole middle console to do this mod?

Thanks

Yes that is the shift plate I am talking about.
Remember this is only for the 99 tl's
it won't work on 00 and up.
You don't have to take off the center console to take off the shift plate, it's real easy.
Search for full directions.
You twist the shift knob counter clockwise, and take off the clip on the outer black piece and then pull the outer black piece off and wa la the shift plate will come off.
Good luck.

Does anyone know which spring will give a lower stance the Tein's or H&R? Also my HID on the left side attempts to turn on but blinks a couple of times then just dies. Is it the bulb or the ballast? Thanks in advance
