Just finished Installed AEM CAI

I just installed my AEM CAI two days ago... I ran once for one day without resetting my ECU and it felt good. But when I resetting the ECU...Man, my car picks up now..I like it...All I need now is some headers and I'm good. But yeah, I just wanted to share..if you guys haven't gotten a AEM CAI...I highly recommend that you do...Best $200 I spent so far on my car. Alright then..I'm out.

did resetting the ecu really make a difference? i installed the cai months ago, never considered resetting the computer though. it just involves unplugging the battery, right? maybe i'll give it a shot.

Yeah, when you unplug the battery remember to unplug the negative...Yeah, well it felt a little better..It is not like it is that dramatic, but it can be felt. Try it

I think lots of people have heard of it. I don't know how many of them have actually done it...You should though.

resetting ECU

nowadays ECU's are getting smarter (about time...)

what happens by resetting the ECU is that the car basically starts out with a fresh clean slate... which gives it the opportunity to adapt and learn how to make use of the new add-ons.

the ECU is designed for efficiency... and as you drive the car over time, the ECU will figure out your own specific drive patterns and optimize natural settings.

again... gains are small... but small gains are what add up.

2 cents for free.

Yeah, make sure to turn on the lights or step on the brake to drain the leftover charge in the car's system if any after you unhook it. Just make sure that there is no current draw when you hook back up.

Cold Air Intake...companies such as AEM and Injen make them for the TL-S (Accord) platform...

There are two basic intake designs for our J series engine...

1. Short Ram Intake

2. Cold Air Intake

The difference between the two is design, and performance...

Short ram doesnt extend down to the wheel well, there fore you wont get as much performance as the cold air setup (due to the fact that your engine will be heating up the air your intake induces) Cold air intake induces "cold air" from underneath your engine.. closer to the left front wheel right under your left headlight..

but there is a significant gain over the stock air box...
