Just did my 6000 miles oil change

I can't wait until to 7500 miles oil change because the weather is so nice in Boston so I did the oil change myself today at 6000 miles. I used TriSnythetic(spelling) Mobil 1 5w30. I put about 4.5 qts. Is that the correct amount with a new oil filter? I check the oil stick and oil level is hitting the top dot(line).
