I just did an oil change using 5w30 Pennzoil Synthetic with a H&R oil filter. How much km's should I change the oil and filter again? I live in the city and put about 20-40 km's a day.

 

Some do every 3K miles, and others go for 7500 miles. Look at your oil to see if it's still good.

 

I meant K&N filter. The store clerk said in Europe its suggested to 20,000kms and here its should be good for 10,000. I once seen people saying that Mobil1 lasts 10,000kms. How long will this last?

 

I do mine every 6000 miles, which is something like 9650 km.
I haven't failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.

 

I have a Amsoil filter and I change it every other oil change.

 

depends on the driving style. stop and go traffic is hard on the oil change it when the light comes on.

I am reading that most recommend about 7500k miles but how often should I change my K&N oil filter? will it last the whole 7500k?

Eddy- the K&N oil filter will last the 7500 miles/10k that any good name brand oil will.
Its an excellent filter- very similar to M1,, as they come down the same assembly line!


Gold- you need to change more often!!
Short commute is the worst on oil- it doesnt get to real operating temp and never gets all the overnight moisture dried out--very bad things happen inside the engine.
I bet water droplets pour from your tailpipes too!!

Acura says if you do less than 10 miles/minutes commute: - then once a month take it for a 30 minutes feeway cruise to get all the fluids dried out- ps fluid and engine oil get a lot of hygroscopic action--they suck moisture right from the air!
brake fluid does too, but all you can do for it is to flush the system once a year
