Just changed Cabin Air Filter

Damn it was easy... just need some small screw drivers to get into those tight places and the instructions and pictures in the other threads were definitely helpful.

One tip that the others did not mention, just get a wire cutter to snip the parts holding the plastic part on. I think it is metal in the older 2ng Gens. It makes it sooooo much faster.

You're right, wire cutters makes it easier. That's what they show being used in the Acura Service Manual.

2002 TLS 2nd gen and mine was plastic. I used a utility knife and it worked fine.
It made a word of differnce for me, as mine was 43000 miles and almost black.
Congrats on a successful DIY

hmm mine is at 60k and I don't think the previous owner replaced it since I opened the compartment and the plastic trim had not been cut before. Boy, was the filter black and dirty!

For as cheep as it is, I will always do it every year no matter what. Maybe more if Im bored. Really makes a difference in the smell of the AC air, plus Im weird about filters...ya I know thats weird. I just replaced my mom's in her '02 Avalon, first of all, the dealer wanted like $80 for it and she has 60k on it. Anyway, the damn thing took me about 1 minute - much easier than our cars and it was pure black with about 1/4 inch of dust all in it! Worst filter Ive ever seen by far.

So moral of the story - change your damn AC filters on time!!!

Haha suprisingly, the previous owner had maintenance records that he changed oil every 3,000 miles which was a big . Also, he requested to have the tranny flushed when the dealer didn't require it. So I guess it's not intentional that he didn't change the filter or probably didn't even know about it.

Just Replaced mine as well - got the filters at Autozone, a 2-pack for $14, now I can breathe easier! With 64k miles on her, man those old ones were BLACK! Thanks to everyone that posted pictures and pointers, they helped tremendously!

Oh, I forgot - The filter I bought was a Bosch P3600 if anyone is interested, as stated before easy to do and use wire cutters for cutting the plastic, took about 30 mins.
