just bought tl-s

just got a black on black TL-S. 2003. 40 miles on the car.
Paid 27 for it.

I want to throw 19" or 20"s on it. Dont want to alter the height though.

Anyone have photos of 19-20 inch wheels with no drop, on a TL?

It will look like a 4x4. Get some kind of drop even if its comptech. Your best bet would be to get coilovers...

20's? Are you nuts? There are quite a few on here with 19's which are more than enough...

Congrats on your purchase and welcome aboard...

does anyone have any photos of a TL on 19"s or 20"s w/o a drop?
People say you need a drop but I would like to see it.

heh

thanks!

if your into detailing at all I would reccomend you get some Klasse All in one and follow it up with Platinum Ulitmate Paint Protectant - I will post pics after this hurricane mess but man the shine is unbelievable - and on your black it would look sick!

Cool site. Wondering, can you use clay after you use the Klasse? Reason I'm asking is that it is a cleaner AND a polish.

I'd like to try the Klasse, then clay, then the Platinum

no no

wash first
clay second
wash again (to get off any clay residue)
klasse All In One (use a foam applicator and make sure it is moist, water or a quick Detailer) - Klasse is easy - wipe on wipe off do one section at a time -

Then Platinum Ultimate Paint Protector - do the whole car, start with a dry foam applicator this time and apply THIN THIN coat all over car - let it set for 45 mins to an hour and take a Micro Fiber Cloth and remove

If your paint needs some TLC take care of that first (swirl marks, oxidation, what have you - beyond what claying and polishing can do)

Once you get your first layer of UPP on, you can add more coats 24 hours after the first and next and next (how ever many you want - concensus is three is the sweet spot for BLING BLING shine) -

I finished my second coat tonight and will put on a third when I get back from Cleveland this weekend then I will post some pics!

groebuck-

when is it necessary to use detailing clay? my car is about 1 1/2 weeks old. not sure if it needs the clay now. does the clay go by another name? all the local auto stores have no idea what i am talking about when i say Detailing Clay.

Mother's clay bar or clay magic

are two brands...You should not need to clay - but new cars can have rail dust from transport and what not so it cannot hurt...

Clay after wash then wash again to get off remaining resdue.

then you can polish then wax or whatever regime you want to follow.

Clay is not a necessity (new cars should be fine!! - some of us are just more anal).

Hey Type - S lady there is a link in the chain here

http://www.premiumautocare.com/

To others following this - if you plan on using Klasee All in One and UPP...I found out that using a Qucik Detailer to keep the applicatior moist while applying the Klasse is not a good idea..just moisten the pad with water and be sure to keep it moist - unless you are using the Platinum Quick Detailer - Meguairs and others contain silicone and can interfear with the bonding process of the Platinum Ulitmate Paint Protectant !!
