I just bought the new
Acura Navigation DVD Vol. 2.05 ( $152.00) X 1

Quantity Sales Tax Total
1 $9.12 $161.12

It cost me $161.12 total with tax. I don't know the updates on it but I wanted to get a new disc since I was using the old one from July 2000 when I bought my car. I know after that there has been 1 or 2 updates but i wanted to wait till i get some money to buy a new update.

Here we go. I got it this time ! hope they have made quiet a few changes from my last dvd disc.

I will let u know more once i get my hands on it.

I'd like to know if there's any new features to it.

 

I just ordered mine also the wharehose is closed for inventory today. The lady told me it would ship this week by UPS. I could not order online because they don't have a place on the order form for D.C. so I had to call.

 

It's just a regular DVD right??

Maybe I should go buy it and burn a few copies.. then sell them for $25 each..

YESSS! Finally better coverage around the Kansas City area. I've always cursed at the Navi for not covering Lawrence, Wichita and other densely-populated areas around here. But there they are!

What are all those "UNINC" labels by the way?

 

I don't know what thats for Dave but you guys with 2001& 2002 Navi cars let me know if its a good upgrade.When I get mine this week hopefuly I still won't know what was covered on the last version. When I got my 2000 the the version 1.09 has 3.3 million points of intrest. The last version was listed as having 3.7 million.
My version did not have the brand names on the gas symbols.

 

I haven't been about to open the Alpine pdf yet, but I image UNINC stands for Unincorporated, i.e. most of Kansas.

Based on your above comments, I'm inclined to order the new version this week unless I hear something negative....

Anyone else feel that the price of that thing is a TOTAL RIPOFF?

I mean, come on... $151 for a DVD disc? Yeah, there's an expense to put it together, but they HAVE TO DO IT ANYWAY if they want to stay in the game. They shouldn't make us bend over for the price. I think they rape us because of the Acura name on the NAV screen...

I just can't see spending the money again. I upgraded my 2000 last year and can't see spending the loot on it again.

Acura3200: Unfortunately this is a sellers' market. When the Japanese Navigation Standard Data Format is finally adopted (Fat Chance!), there may be some real competition. Right now, Alpine can charge whatever they please.

$150 is very steep but not too expensive for most Navi owners, which is exactly why Alpine priced it like that. I make it a point to buy a new disc every year to keep up with the street changes, esp. residential areas that change continually around here. It's in my budget.

The worst part is Acura may be subsidizing some of the cost of the upgrade to help out its owners. The exact same disk for an aftermarket Alpine DVD navi unit is $300. Ouch!!

 

Anyone else having a difficult time opening the coverage link. Oh well, I guess I will just have to buy the DVD to see the coverage area. No biggie, cause it is always nice to have the latest and greatest of whatever it is..

 

I had trouble opening it in IE. I just did a right click/save target as and opened it straight into Acrobat Reader.

 

I placed the order on the 9/5/01 and I still didn't recieve anything. did anyone place the order and recieve this new software on DVD ??

i was checking up on my online bank bill and see that i had been charged by the ALPINE ELECTRONICS.

It seems that everyone is waiting like yourself. I checked Honda's order site and it says my order has shipped. Will just have to wait a while longer.

 

Be patient the planes arent flying yet. They probably ground ship your DVDs

 

I'll buy it from you also. It is good to hear that the KC area will get expanded. I too am tired of just seeing K-10 on my Navi when travelling to Lawrence

 

Finally.. I just came in and saw a ups 2nd day box with my name on it waiting for me to open ~

I got the new DVD disk Vol 2.05. I didn't put it in the car yet because my car is not at home. My wife took it to work but I will check it out tomorrow !! I will let u know whats new in there.

Is there anyone that can check Suffolk Area code for me? My current Navi still shows my area code as 516. It is now 631.

I know this number 516.563.0808 should be 631.563.0808 now. Is there anyone that can punch that up into your Navi to see if it shows as 631 now?

 

UPS just droped my ALPINE 2.05 version DVD off today I will load it the car a bit later. The oder request date says SEP 11 but I placed the order on SEP 3. Its in my hands at this moment but as I said this should be a big improvement for me from 1.09 version.
I would load it up now but I have some people here remodeling my upstairs bathroom. The house I live in is over 80yrs old so its time for major work on the bathroom. If there are any locations that you wan't me to enter just let me know.
