I just got my is300 foglights today. It came with the housings and yellow projectors...

I wanted yellow fogs for the longest time, without having the lens yellow during the day. Clear during day, yellow at night. Not just any yellow too, like the IS300/GS .

So i figured, if i wanted IS/GS fogs, i gotta get the real thing...

Now i have it, I am going to either replace my fogs with them, but they are too big, so either take out the yellow projectors and place them somehow inside my fogs...

I'll update you guys on this. *with pics*

125 without bulbs.

I'm going to tear it apart tomorrow, looks like oven method to me... i see silicone...

I'll be using the sylvania silverstars in the housing...

What year TL do you have??

 

dont get the silverstars... they burn out within less than a year... get piaa.

 

funny, i've heard the same thing about PIAA

Bulbs will burn out eventually but some will burn out faster than others. I had piaa before and they burned out in less than a year and now I read the same thing about sylvania silverstars.

I looked at the fogs today, I got a lot of work to do, i took out my fogs so my car can get fixed at the shop while i do some work to them. it looks like I have to melt our TL and the IS300 housings in order to transplant the yellow projector like "thing".

yah...i did some research, and yes, you can break the lens, but its pretty damn hard...only like two or three people did it that way...and it requires some tools...cuz the lens is hella thick.

 

do u know if the is 300 fog light, could fit in the 99-01 TL front bumper since we do not have a fog light like the 02's and above???

good luck making that transplant work, definitely let us know how difficult it is, and how well it fits, if at all.

yes, i'm planning on getting the is300 fogs to work, it will most likely fit on the 99-01 front, but let me get mine to work first. i'll post pics and directions ... etc

 

Good luck on the project!! You probably have to cut the metal frame extension right behind the fog hole. You don't have enough space to put that on if you're going to put those on fog hole.

Let me get one thing straight here.... You have TL-S & you trying to have extra fogs besides the stock one??

 

no no no, 2003 TL-P, i removed my fogs, i will replace, there is enough clearance, no need for cutting

Yeah, hurry and put the picture of your car when you are done putting the IS 300 fog on. I think they will look pretty sweet dude. I am thinking of putting either Xenarch from Sylvania HID fog or IS 300 fog on. Either way, I think it will look good on my car (silver 99 TL). Will it fit?
