iPod2Car

For Christmas i got this "iPod2Car" hook up that connects my iPod directly to my factory stereo. I took it to best buy (idiot land) so that they could install it because thats where it was bought from. The hook up say it works for the 1999-2002 TL without navigation. I have a 2002 with out navigation and the 6 Disc changer. ANyways, the geniuses at best buy told me it probably wouldnt work (Note: hook up said its made for it) because the car lacks an AUX switch. Now, from what i've read on other places online instead of needing an AUX switch the kit just uses the CD button to change over to the iPod. I'm pretty sure the guys at best buy are retarded and the only reason i'm taking it to best buy is because its cheap and alot closer to my house. Does anyone else have this kit and if so does it use the CD button to switch over?

the cd button works as an aux switch by clicking it more than once.

Let's see. You call them idiot land and you're taking your car there. Who's the idiot?

As long as you don't have the Aux CD changer in the trunk, you can use the iPod cable. The cable plugs into the same jack (back, right of the HU as you face the front of the HU) the Aux CD changer does. Installing the cable is easy. All you have to do is take some trim off, and reach behind the HU.

If you have a Philips screw driver your can install it yourself in under a hour. And the CD button on the TL HU is the Aux switch
