Interior Noise Problems?

Hi all...

Do you all have some interior noise in your car? I am not talking about any obvious rattling from the dash or doors... Just little sounds when you are driving alone without music that drives you up the wall???

I keep hearing a little sound in the back of my car (perhaps the rear deck, or maybe it's the leather pieces in the back seat rubbing against each other during normal road vibration...

I also hear a sound coming from the passenger side (not sure whether it is the front seats or the back seats)...similar kind of sound as in the rear...

When I have other distractions (passengers, music, etc...) I don't really notice it... But when I am driving alone, it drives me up the wall...

Any experience or feedback out there?

There's some squeaking in the passenger seat. I haven't been able to find a way to find out. Sounded like either the seat springs need some lube or something.

The squeaking was there before I lowered it. Your suspension sounds like it needs lube.

I know where some of my noise is coming from...

The front passenger door has two pieces that come together...the arm rest and the bottom piece... when I move one of the pieces back and forth, there is a very nasty friction sound... I put some baby powder in between to quiet it up, and it reduced it, but has not gotten rid of it...

I was thinking about what else I could put in there to quiet it down without the risk of it looking like crap (baby powder is pretty easy to clean up)...

Mine squeaks on bumps, but that would be because I need new shocks. The only other rattles I have are my radar detector bumping the dashboard and my AC rattles sometimes.

It could be the armrest squeaking that you're hearing?

I don't think it is...but it could be... I hear that you can eliminate the noise from the armrest/center-console by taking out the screws, wrapping them in plumbers tape and re-installing the screws... How many screws holding that thing together? Anyone know?

Even if the noise is not coming from the center console, it may be worth a pre-emptive strike!

I got noise coming from somewhere in the front driver wheel well I think. The speed of the sound picks up as the car accelerates, but I don't think its an engine thing since I can be coasting down a hill with my car in neutral and the sound does not change at all unless I slow down. Could it be something wrong with a rim or something connected to it? Lots of potholes here in Hawaii...

I think my noises are all caused by interior pieces rubbing/chattering... It's not a lot of noises mind you... Just one in the rear, and one on the passenger side... Once I isoloate these, I should be good...

Oh, and intermittently I hear something coming from the steering column...but not often...

I think I need someone to ride with me and help me isolate it...

I have this annoying ass noise from the back. sounds like a "clunk" sound when I go over a sharp bump. sounds like its up high on the driver side in the rear deck somewhere. I originally thought it was the side cover there by the rear window, or I have heard people have had noise after getting new springs installed from their rear sway bar. I need to check that I guess, but this sounds like its up high...other than that Im good unless my system is blasting, then the sunglass holder rattles bad.
