i went into my car today and the button to turn on one of the two interior lights (the ones in front of the rear view mirror) was missing! i can see in there and the spring/button inside is fine. i was just wondering what those lights are called, what part the actual button is, and possibly where i could find one!.

Those are called map lights.

They can't just disappear out of nowhere. It has to be somewhere on your center console or on the floor if you had it before

Or maybe some slick guy broke into your car just to take that piece.

yeah i looked around and i have no idea what happened, so weird. so what part would i order to get just that button piece. and thank you for your help!

 

unfortunately it looks like you are going to have to buy the whole assembly #7. luckily you can get it on ebay for really cheap. or look on the black market. there are a couple people parting out their entire car.

 

Yeah, it doesn't look like they sell just that part? LOOK HARDER!! It will save you a trip to the junkyard. If you can't find it, I am guessing it is in between your seat and the center console. There is like a little gap where small stuff falls down and stays there forever unless you have tiny hands or take the seat off.

 

Mine fell out as well. Unfortunately you can't repair it, There is a piece that snapped off and it's so small that gluing it will not work.

Ebay has the entire assembly (as mentioned above).

 

mine fell out the other day. karma i guess. I was laughing at the thought of having it fall and hit your head or something when I was reading this thread the other day.

Figures that a few days later, its gone! it fell in between the center and my seat. I'll have to ask my girlfriend to get it out (she has tiny hands)
