Interior footwell LED's for a 2g tl
I have gone insane searching for a video on a DIY on how to install some LED strips i bought for my tl. The cables aren't so long, will i need to run it to my battery, or can i run it to my fusebox? I want the LEDs to turn on when i turn on my headlights. i dont have any fuse adapters, wire crimpers or clips. The LEDs are "plug'n'play" according the the vendor store. Anyone got ? I need about a piggy bank worth of pennies on info here.

Without a add a fuse connector it is really impossible to have the lights on the head lights on. Useless you add a switch and turn them yourself.
I'm going to wire some I bought awhile ago to either the dome light with a add a fuse or just have them on with the ignition so the they are always on with the car on.

Just out of curiosity, why would you want them on with the headlights? IMO it would be annoying to have them always/constantly on with the headlight. I would just get an "Add a Fuse" and hook it up to a fuse in the driver side fusebox that comes on when the key is in the ignition, and then wire in a switch so you can control when they're on or not.

Whatever you do you'll need more wire and also some fuse connectors for both sides. You could wire both into one switch and then wire the switch into a fuse on the drivers side and locate it somewhere on or under the dash. Just whatever you do, watch for what fuse you're pulling. I wired my radar detector into the airbag fuse and had to reset the airbag light. Not a big deal once I figured it out but still not fun to see a new light on on the dash right after a mod.

well, my day light fuse isnt plugged in, therefore the only time my headlights would be on is during the night time, when i manually turn them on, and to me imo, the point of the leds is to shine at night and give the car a taboo-night-life kinda look. and so guys, this "add-a-fuse" is that little fuse adapter people get at radioshack? and lastly, the leds i got are the ones from advanced autoparts, that quality wont affect the performance negatively right?

i also forgot to mention that the wire is long enough for me to stick the strip at the footwell, and be able to plug in the wires to my fuse boxes. its not long enough to reach my head lights through my firewall or my battery though.

Buy a roll or 2 of 16 gauge wire and connect it to the led syrip. Honestly the right way to connect them and not worry about it. Would to go buy an add-a-fuse connection. Cost $5-10 at pep boys. Find the fuse thats on with the headlights...or check the diy thread for fog light mod and use the cluster fuse and done.
Im going to wire mine to the interior dome light so when the dome is on the lights turn on.
Your other option is a straight switch you turn on and off whenever you want

(Old Pics I ran interior lights ages ago and didn't have a decent camera for low light pics).
I run my interior lights from the Dome light so they would turn on with the car unlock by the FOB.. First I installed a 3 SMD into the dome light and run a "Plug-and-Play" OEM LED Bulb that didn't light up for shit:
Then run a wire tap from the dome light into the B Pillar and ran a "Y" wire to the front and the rear seats:
The Passenger seat is a little tricky since the glove box gets in the way there is light but not as impressive as the driver side:
To complete it all I ran 2 SMD strips to the sides of the Trunk (They are tapped into the Trunk Light which is also a SMD Strip):

There is a fused connection on the back of the drivers side fuse panel (there are actually 5 of them, but only one powers on with the headlight switch. All you need to do is get a Female buttconnector and plug the positive into that, then find a suitable ground for the negative wire.

I took out the blank next to my light dimmer dial on my 03 tl and put a blue led fighter jet switch. So convenient to have it right there so i can turn it on and off as i please.
perfect place in my opinion. You should really consider it
