Question interference between radio and nav?

Has anyone heard any kind of interference noises (something like bthe bhte bhte....) coming from the speakers? I hear it coming from the driver's side speaker when I'm stopped and have the radio on softly and the nav system going at the same time. It only goes on for about 20 or 30 seconds, then goes away....

Any solutions?

not using cell phone

I'm not using a cell phone. But I do leave it on and sitting in the cupholder. Maybe leaving cell phone on standby is the reason?

Funny that no one else has this problem. My friend's WRX also has this noise, and he doesn't have a nav.

Going to the dealer on friday, maybe they have an answer.

This has been documented quite a bit on this forum, especially with Nextel users (IIRC). If you keep your cell phone in the cup holders or in the storage area between the seat heater buttons (under the radio), the radio is prone to interference from the RFI emitted by the phone while on standby. Every time you jump from cell tower to cell tower, every time you roam or switch from analog to digital, you'll probably get some interference. And you'll probably notice the most just prior to getting a call. I keep my StarTac in the top portion of the arm rest and have no troubles.

The Nextel is definitely the worse with the radio interference. I also get it from a Nokia 8260. Eitherway, whenever I use a cell phone, I have to turn the radio all the way down so I don't hear the interference from the cell phone.
