Interesting mileage

So I was in my fathers 05 TSX tonight (purchased 12/04) and I noticed the mileage looked familiar, so I went in my car (purchased 11/06) and found this. It also seems one of us needs to correct our outside temp. I think his might be right.

easy method- compare to a guage not on the car- like on the side of the house
Also note the accuracy is off until car moving and stabilzed air temp across the sendor- its sits in front of the radiator on a clip

To test- make a glass of ice and water- stick sendor in it- should read 32
Use adjust procedure- gen2 has the trip reset buttons method- gen3 in the setup screen
There is a 5 degree +- adjustment
On a gen2 its possible to get reset temp - when trying to reset oil minder- same buttons- different use of key
See your owner book

if only you had got the pic 1 mile earlier!!
When they near 70- reset the trip meters so everything matches~

Thanks for the tip, I'm going to do the icewater test on both cars and also use a seperate temp guage.

Yeah, when I sat in the car it just looked odd to me, so I had to check my car and sure enough they were off by one mile. lol

Likely the one of the cars had been recently driven. If they had both been off over night and you just turned them on without turning the motor over you could tell if either was off without all this work with ice.

Really 2-3f makes no difference, you're driving in traffic, on road ways and all this does is increase temps from reality.
