Intake confusion

Hello eveyone. I'm doing research on behalf of my friend who owns a 99 Acura TL. He wants a short ram intake for his car. I've been doing a little reading on this forum and it would seem the AEM is the best. Granted that the icebox is interesting but that's not what he wants.

I've been trying to find places that sells these AEM short rams for his 99 TL but I'm coming up short. Only place I know I can get it is of course off Ebay. Ebay is all good but I would prefer to purchace a car part from a more reliable source. Something did confuse me on the ebay auctions. Those intakes said they were for the 00-03 TL's, however the second gen TL started in 99. Are they different in some way or can you fit one of those intakes in a 99?

If you guys can please tell me where I can purchase one of these AEM intakes for my bud online and clear up my confusion about the 00-03 or 99-03 TL's that's be awesome . Thank you.

Why does he want the short ram? Truthfully, he'd get the same sound/power from just removing the lower resonator from the stock intake.

The CAI helps to suck colder air into the intake manifold so it should give you more power.

the short ram is just going to be loud............more gains from a CAI or else remove the resonator like the guys above said, and drop in a K&N filter.

not positive but makes sence. CAI should weild more power due to the fact that the air isnt twisting and turning around in the stock box. and i think that the filter used in the CAI is freeier flowing.

??? NSXNEXT just said that it'd produce more power than just removing the resonator... The COLD AIR from the COLD AIR intake = more power.
