INTAKe "AEM" VS. "COMPTECH" ????

Greetings to everyone,
i recently purchased the AEM intake for my 2002 TL-S w/navi . did i opted correctly versus the comptech intake "icebox"?
i understand that cold air is better but why would comptech be more exspensive?

thank you in advance for your replies!!

comptech provide more hp, a stock look, no chance of hydrolocking, and isnt signifacantly louder then stock...

aem gives you a nice roar at high rpms...thats the only advantage (could be disadvantage to some) to a normal cai

Comptech

I installed my comptech icebox last week, and love it. No rellay noticeable noise gain, great for those of us in the burbs with touchy neighbors.
Wait til I blow em out with headers and exhaust.
Seriously, the compech is a few bucks more, but they make such a good product, and it does keep that stock look.

the difference in hp is minimal. the big diff is noise really and the slight possiblity of hydro-locking. again your car has to be submerge under water for that to happen.

Hydro-locking is when water goes inside the engine because the cold-air sucked in water. Then the engine starts to go crazy.

I've already been through the hydro-locking with my integra -_-.

the only real difference between the 2 is the look. both have almost the exact same hp gains. there are pros and cons to both. you cant go wrong with the aem or the icebox

Aem customer service sucks. I like the CAI, but i call to get a replacement part and i got the run around, i was on hold long distance for 15 min, in the end they told me to talk to the dealer where i got my cai for the parts. dumb ass company. go w/ comptech.
