Insurance is cheating, what do I do??

Alright, about my car https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=169623 the claim adjuster looked at it this evening and quoted $3687.09 to get my car fixed. Before that he mumbled 'I hope this does not total your car'. My main problem is that I heard that a car is considered a total loss if repairs are at least 75% of car's value. And then the adjuster put that my car has 140,000 miles on the claim quote although he saw that it had 196,500 miles on it. How do I determine my car's value...I went to kbb but I dont know if I should go with trade in, private party, or what?
And, I would like to know how to challenge this adjuster's 140k mileage coz I think he did it so as not to total my car. As it is, I told him not to write me a check til tomoro so I can find a decent body shop to work on my car coz he said he will write the check to the body shop instead of to me. Anyways, if you guys can throw in some I'd appreciate it. It's a 99tl w/nav (made in 12/98), has spoiler, 17"msr wheels, disc changer in trunk, and the rest is standard and my zip is 40222. Please let me know.

So, as it is the insurance is implying that the car's value is not less than $4,916 ($3,687.09 is 75% of $4,916). Is that right?

I checked out your pics and man that sucks. As far as the insurance goes, if they total your car based on 140k miles, you would get a few extra dollars since the adjuster cut 50k miles of depreciation off. But I cant tell from your post whether you want it back or you just want a check.

I would check the NADA used value instead of KBB. No retail, trade in, private BS w/ NADA.

Not 100% sure but I believe they go by retail value of the car. Check your insurance policy , it should say in there.
