Post insurance

It seems that Allstate does not care if your TL is a type-S or not. I called my agent, told him I had a new TL. He told me what the rate would be. After that, I sent him the VIN, so he could properly add the car, as well as "find out about airbags, ABS, etc." When I got the actual bill (when his computer knew it was a type-S from the VIN), it was the same price he quoted the first time (when he didn't know).

That's pretty cool. Plus, it's cheaper to insure my TL-S than either my Fiero or my Explorer -- more safety features, probably, plus an alarm.

Cool

I picked up mine yesterday.
Ins co didn't know about the "S" and I didn't
tell them. They told me they didn't have the
2002 model year info. I told them about all the safety features. We'll see when the adjusted bill get here, Stay tuned.

All I know is that the insurance for my TL-S is over $200 less than my wife's 2000 Pathfinder. And it's only $150 more than my old 95 GS-R!

Yah, I did the same thing. I told them it is a 2002 TL, but when I gave them the VIN# it showed up as a type S but the rate was the same w/Allstate,

ever look at your purchase contract? that doesn't even say type s on it either...it just lists the car as a tl. i also got a preliminary quote prior to purchasing the car, and the total stayed the same afterwards. it just gets better!
