Instructions: shock sensor on factory alarm
#45
Does anyone know how to wire up a dual stage shock sensor to the factory alarm, so when you tap the car the horn will honk, but if they hit it harder the alarm will go off? This guy said he did it, checkout the comments under the picture.

That way the horn wont be honking when you are driving from picking up vibrations, becuase the shock sensor will be shut off.

hello all. I have a cl, and installed a DEI sensor. DO NOT BUY THE DEI. It is a dual stage sensor, and will not be sensitive enough. The forth wire is a quick 1/2 sec pulse for the warning chirp. And no, it cannot be used. Only aftermarket brains can handle this function
mt problem with this install was the sensor's electrical configuration. The snesor would pickup the slightest hits with the 1/2 sec pluse, but not with the 2 sec alarm trigger pulse. But, the acura alarms need about 1 sec pulse lengths for activation.
If the ACURA-CL site were around, I could showyou all pics and a write up that was done. Say, anyone know what happened to acura-cl.com?????

I ended up buying the DEI 504M Sensor, its made for hooking up to OEM and gives the proper pulse, I tried 3 others in my RSX and this was the only one that worked. Its really sensitive if I turn it up. I hooked my (warn away) lead up to the trigger lead, with a SPDT swotch inline, so with the flick of a switch I can make the alarm more senstive, I use this if I am going to park at a mall or something.
