Whats the difference between the Insprie Fog Lamp Switch and the one that comes with the Accords....also, couldnt i just use the swtich that comes in the 2002 Types and TLs..or the RSX..waht would be different...or would it be a good idea...cuz using that i would save lots of money....

 

I was going to get the Inspire switch, but I got the Accord one instead. The only good thing you get from it is that it matches your interior color. Accord ones are only black. I have black interior so it doesn't matter to me. MDX or 2002+ TL fog switch are good too. They are all the same thing, differ only in color. If you interior is parchment, you are out of luck and to match you must get the Acura/Inspire one (55$). But if you interior is Ebony, Accord fog switch will do fine (30$). I bought Accord one already. As soon as my PIAA 2100x comes, that baby is going to be part of my dash.

Good post. But let me make one thing clear here. 02 TL fog & INSPIRE switches are different. It does not fit!!

That's why I used INSPIRE switch on my ACCORD fog wire.

 

I assume you have 99-01 TL because you're looking for the fog switch. What kind of wire are you going to use? Are you going to use the one A/M fog set? Then it doesn't really matter which one to get. Because you have to custome fit it on the switch.
If you get ACCORD fog wiring loom, you must get INSPIRE switch to match the interior color and work perfectly with plug.

they are gonna be fog lights off of a 1997-1999 nissan maxima...cuz if done right it looks very OEM. now my quiestion is....would the accord switch work..and would it be the same color, and also does it light up....

 

Like Tatewaki said above, ACCORD fog switch is BLACK.
If you want to install MAXIMA fog, here is what you can do.

You probably have to custom fit the maxima fogs on the pocket holes. That requires lots of cutting and fitting. After that, you'll probabaly want to wire them using ACCORD fog wire hardness. And you'll have to get INSPIRE switch for ACCORD fog wire because 02-03 TL fog switch will not fig on ACCORD fog wire.

wow...thats a lot of money....is there any way i would be able to do it using the wiring harnesses that cmoe in the maxima kit...and also...by using the accord fog switch?

 

and just out of curioustiy...theres prob a really dumb abd simple answer to this...but if we are using the accord wiring harness...why couldnt we use the switch for it?

 

If you want to put Maxima wiring harness, you have to find the power source from the car. I am not really sure how you're going to put Maxima fog harness on TL. Also, Maxima harness will not work with either INSPIRE or ACCORD switch.

If you go with ACCORD harness, of course you can put ACCORD fog switch. Just the fact that is different color.

songoku...thanks so much for your help...im just gonna throw an accord switch in there cuz i dont think the slight color variation is worth about $40...tatewaki...thank you also..so all i need are those four parts you mentioned above....if i purchase the entire fog kit from honda//wouldnt all that stuff come with it?

I just bought some lexus gs fogs and plan to use the accord fog light switch. what kind of wiring harness do i need to get and how difficult is this installation going to be?

First of all, you need to find out what kind of bulb does it take. Is it H1?? Is there any wire plug that came with the fog?

 

the lexus fogs take 9006 bulbs. it didnt come with any wire plugs or harness. what do i need to do?!!?! should i just get the accord harness and get whatever bulbs go with the accord harness and try to fit it in my fogs?

 

If you get 2001 ACCORD fog kit, you'll get H11 bulbs looks like the one below. (One on the right is H11. It's different than 9006)



I am not sure if the wire harness will plug directly to the 9006 bulb, but you sould buy the whole harness including relays & fusible link everything from ACCORD fog kit. Good luck!!
