Inspire Badge Help

I have the INSPIRE letters that I took off of my previous car, now how would I go about spacing and centering the letters to stick onto the car?

i say get some clear plastic, like the stuff that you put book reports in. put some double sided tape (regular weak stuff) on the part of the letters that faces out, use a ruler to arrange the distance of the letters perfectly and stick them to the book report plastic. apply the strong double sided tape to the back of the letters and push the whole thing against your car and peel the book report plastic off like a fake tattoo

sounds like a pretty good idea, now what kind of double sided tape should i get? any special kind? like what would be some regular weak tape to stick to the plastic and what kind of tape would i use to stick to the car? i'm planning on baking my headlights to black them out soon too so i'll be going to home depot for the materials.

well any regular strength 3m tape would work for the plastic stick. but you definitely want some weather proof heavy duty 3m tape for the back of the letters. and why dont you make a DIY while youre at it. i would love to see if my concept works

this is how you do it (i know because i did it after an accident)

what you need:
- clear packing tape (office depot, fedex, ups, riteaid, wherever http://shop.vendio.com/parkersales/i.../?s=1199705396)
- 3M double sided, weather resistant tape (autozone, pep boys, some auto shop) (http://pcsound.stores.yahoo.net/mmm4011long.html)

1) i had my friend take a picture of his badges and he emailed it to me
2) i zoomed in/out of the image so that they were the same size when i put the actual physical letters against the screen
3) put a small piece of double sided tape on the letter to hold onto the screen. depending on the size of your screen, you may only be able to do 2-3-4 letters at a time.
4) place clear packing tape over letters on screen and slowly pull letters off. shift over on the screen (and pan the image across the screen) and finish the rest of the letters.

to line the letters up, i traced the "A" out in the picture with a piece of paper (u can measure the distance too but it was easier to for me to just park reference pts. i then used these pts to line the letters back up centered (and the appropriate length from where the A used to be) on the car

here is the image i used for reference: http://file.io/file/ijbomi.JPG

here is a pic of me rebuilding the inspire template

and the results

good luck!
