Talking Injen RD1660 Cold Air Intake Install Completed

Ok, as some of you know, earlier today i had gone through some shitty times during my installation of this CAI. I was able to make it through finally and the install was a success! Reved it up, and the sound was beautiful. Here are a few pics below of what hoses i connected to where. From what you'll see in the picture of the hose layout, please tell me if i have connected the hoses the right way. Thanks.

Connected coolant hoses in Red and Green to eachother with a little coupler Injen supplied with the intake. Red and Green both connect to the engine in two different spots. Connected the Vacum hose in yellow from the engine to the intake.

Connected Coolant Lines in Red and Green with white plastic coupler.

Connected the vacum hose in purple onto the backside of the intake. This vacum hose is the same one that came off the backside of the stock intake.

Believe me i knwo exactly what your talking about. You tap the gas real quick and let off it right away and everytime you do that it sucks in real quick but then stops sucking and makes this muffle like popping suction sound. Its so hot.

i also had a prob where this intake would hit the part in red

i had to bend the arm and readjust it. after a while it would eventually eat a hole in the tube.

well when my engine would flex i would here a bang and it was the intake. what i did was get compressor hose and split it and glued it there but it weared away after a month. then i realized i could rebend the bracket arm and mount it higher so i t didn't.

if it doesn't bang i wouldn't worry about it.

Thinking of an intake as well. Is it a big issue with the pipe touching the metal piece. I have an 02 tpye S, same problem. And how really loud is the sound, I want some growl but not like something you hear down the street, like trash can get crush, i hate that sound.

Ok, its not like OMG RICE CAN RIDICULOUSLY LOUD. When your driving your car with it, its just sick. The sound is awsome. Its loud enough, put it that way. Any more would be over kill. Im going to be putting some video clips on here real soon so you can see how it sounds k. Later.

When I had the AEM V2 intake on my car, it sounded like a V8 when you floored it. Very loud and you will hear it from far away, but if you are just driving normal, you can barely hear anything at all - only when you floor it and the engine is in VTEC is it loud as hell. I thought it was really bad ass.

Ok, your best deal is going to be ordering from the vendor EXCELERATE on this forum. I ordered my Cold Air Intake from him. He's EXCELLENT and i HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Ive looked, and hes got the best deal. $225 for the INJEN RD1660. Now thats for my 1999 3.2TL. I dont think its for a Type S. Idk, if u want injen, just check there website for fitments. Dont know the prices of AEM or Comptech Ice Box.
