Post Initial service visit...

My TL has got around 3,700 miles on it and I was planning on taking it in next week for the initial maintenance check-up, etc.

1. First of all how much is it - or is it "complimentary?" If it is not complimentary, what are some good ways to get it done for free?

2. Also, what exactly do they do besides check/change the oil, etc.?

Thanks...

Well when I got the car last Dec saleman gave me a coupon for 1st oil change free.
The dealership then sent me a reminder for 1st oil change to be free of charge.I then took it for the next service that was going to be the $100 deal but because of my low mileage they only did oil change.I go by the months not the miles because my miles are low that 2nd sevice was oil change & check fluids $24.95.Last week dealership sent me my first set of dealer coupons for oil change or tire rotation&oil change or Owners choice discount but you have to spend over $100 to save on that choice also the Alignment coupon.I had the chrome factory wheels put on at NTB so I have life time rotation & balance for tires.I just checked &last oil change was July 31 so its time to go back.

Made my appt. and apparently it's not free.

I mentioned to the dealer that other dealers offered it free, coupon books, etc. but they said they didn't follow that policy..

Cheap bastards at Cerritos Acura...

I don't have my book handy, but I thought that some people on here mentioned that it was listed in the book someplace that the first service was free. My dealer offered me the first two services for free. You might want to mention to the dealer that you are going to be taking your car to a different acura dealer to have any work done on the car since you feel that you were given the shaft. I would also make sure you fill out the survey and send it to the dealer first and tell them that this is what you are submitting to Acura if they don't do the right thing. Then if they do it send it anyway. :-)

The first two oil changes in Canada is free. It is printed on the brochure. And you don't need to bring it to the dealer that you bought your TL from, that's my understanding.

But I don't know about the policy in the States.
