I'm sorry but I need help. l0l

I am sorry to clutter this forum with questions not pertaining to the second gen tl, but this morning the passenger window on my parents Odyssey just dropped to the bottom of the door when the window down button was pressed. So later on, when I got back, I opened up the door panel to see whats going on....

Basically, the motor still works fine, but the metal cable is ripped apart, so I am assuming that is the problem...What else, if anything can it be?

The window is now being held up by a 2x4 that I placed underneath the glass, because it is raining here in so. Fl. How hard is it to replace this cable, should I do it or take it to the stealership? What exactly is involved? And where can I find this part? A part number would be AWESOME.

Once again, I am sorry for asking on acurazine, but I am not a member on any honda forums, and being these cars are so much alike, I am sure you guys can help me out! Thanks!

you need the entire bracket that holds the window and i would suggest that you take it to a dealershit or some where certified to put the bracket in

You probably won't be able to buy and replace just the cable. Parts stores and dealers will most likely only offer the window regulator assembly. In some cases it's the assembly including the motor, depending on how it's assembled. I'd call parts stores around town and see what they have.

Thanks for the input. What exactly is the regulator? Is that everything that makes the window work, ie: motor, cable, wires, etc....Like the whole assembly? Or is that the motor itself?

where in florida are you located and what year is the odyssey if you are close i can suggest a couple places you might find one that i know have a few odyssey's if they are the same year range as yours and you should be able to pick up a window regulator for fairly cheap.

The window regulator is the mechanical assembly that lifts and lowers your window. The motor should mount right on it.

Okay, so I need the regulator itself, or the regulator assembly? And the link that you provided is for the Canadian models, being that I have an American model, will it still work?

The regulator IS an assembly. As for the link I just entered the info you had so go ahead and enter a new vehicle. It actually allows you to key in your VIN so that way there are no mistakes.

I would check junk yards to see if they have an Odyssey that you can just take the part that you need.

yeah- call the auto recycling center near you - they will have a tested good used one already on the shelf at half the price of a new one

if the power motor still works you only need the reg assembly
Go to the junkyard in person - they may install fast and cheap too
