Unhappy I'm so sad

The Spring and Summer are gonna suck with these water restrictions.

Last Summer my ritual every Saturday was:

1) Play golf
2) Come home and wash the car.

I have been dying to give my baby a bath, but since I can't use the hose, I think I might have to go to a DIY car wash. :wow:

Yeah I know, it's not something I'm proud of, but it's something I have to do.

I am so tempted to just get up at like 3:00 am and wash it before anyone gets up.

Anyone else sad about the water restrictions?

Same here in PA. I did a little investigating and in PA your allowed car washes every 1st and 3rd Sat. ONLY for odd numbered house numbers using a bucket or hose w/auto shut-off (2 min max for pre-rinse and 2 min max for rinse). 2nd and 4th for even numbered houses.

Neil, just wait until it rains then wash it really quick.

Seriously, I have washed my car like late afternoon. I believe you can water the lawn or wash your car like at certain times.

LOL.....sure why not. But isn't hard to dry with no sun

We use to have restrictions here in florida in it suck. Raining season is coming, so I guess the restrictions are not active at this moment. So let's say I will wash my car today, don't be jealous.

If you go to the DIY, take along 3-4 gallons of distilled water for a final rinse.

Yeah, I washed my car the day before yesterday and after I was done, I remembered that we have water restrictions. Oops! Anyway, just wake up early and do it. Don't however use too much water! Just a quick rinse, wash and rinse. Then dry fast! Its hot out there!

We don't have water restrictions (that I'm aware of anyways) here in VA, but they don't have a hose hookup at my apt. complex, and I hate the DIY with those high-pressure sprays , so I bought my own hose and use the hookup at the Enterprise Rent-a-Car after hours!! shhhhhh

You guys have water restrictions? Bet that sucks.

So you guys don't like the high pressure washers at those DIY places? I like them sometimes to get off caked on mud and grime.

Unhappy

I think it is taking a toll on the NY area. But I don't give a sh*t. I just washed my car 10 minutes ago. People in my job flush the toilet more than I need to wash my car. I just limit myself. I soak it, soap it and rinse it quick.

I washed it last week also and the mail man came up to me and told me it's illegal. I told him to kiss my a** since he never puts the mail into the right boxes I don't care what he says.

Where is the damn rain???

Yes NSXNext, I too am dreading this drought. I got bug juice galore on my front bumper and i havent been able to wash it off. I live in a condo where the neighbors would chomp and the bit to call the police for illegal washing and the fine is $250. I am thinking i will go to a DYI car wash with a friend, a sponge and a pail. While she is washing the car with the spray, i will go around with the bucket and sponge and wash the dirt that doesnt come off with just the sprayer. It cost me like $10 in quarters to do it last time, almost as much as they charge at the same car wash to hand wash it, but i feel better about doing it myself.

problem with my neighborhood is the neighbors. I dont want to risk the $250 fine and they will tell on me because the are not very nice folks. Never buy a townhouse! There is a wash-it-yourself place in Pleasantville, and one in Yonkers, and also one in Norwalk, CT, which is where i go during work. I am always interested in knowing where the rest of them are if you've got more that i dont know about yet.

Angry

Pollen sucks

I washed it yesterday and today was a nightmare. Its when these bulbs off the trees fall off they break and all the damn powder comes out.....and there is that damn stuff in the air that looks like sand when it settles onto your car. And I just washed my car last night....

Just as SlyTLS said.... :thefinger pollen sucks

My deepest condolences for everyone under restrictions. Here in Louisville we have had plenty of rain (another thunderstorm today), so I've washed our cars about four times in the last week.

As far as getting those bugs off, I use Meguiar's #34 Final Inspection to get bugs and bird doo off of my car. It is great for isolated problems and when you do not need to wash the entire car.

No at-home carwashing allowed in NJ - period.
