Talking I'm in!!

Just joined the family. Picked up my 2001 Firepepper Red, Parchmont baby last Saturday! Great site here, I find myself surfing constantly. My ride is all stock, but I am intersted in the Compteck exhaust, and sway bars. How is the performance of either? Do the bars drastically effect the ride, or just cornering? Also, is the exhaust a bolt on, or does it require a pro shop for installation? I've heard you can hear a rumble in the cabin with the exhaust. Looking forward to the site and all it has to offer.

Congrats on your car, you will be happy.

As far as the Comptech exh, you will probably not like it if you are not into the macho sound that all the 'kids' like these days. If you still want the looks and performance of an aftermarket exhaust but w/o the increased exhaust note, your only recourse is the Mugen system. Unfortunately, it costs almost twice as much.

i have a 99 tl with the comptech exhaust. it is a bolt on piece so it took no time to install. as far as noise goes i was amazed at how quiet it is. it is hardly noticeable, especially from inside the car. The only time you can really hear it at all is at very low rpm's and it still isnt very loud at all.

Welcome!
I can only make a honest commment on the sway bars. I had them on for about a month and I really like how they have improved the handling of the car. I only installed the rear but that was because I like a little over-steer. But if you wanted something more neutral then install both....anyhow they only come in a set so you can experiment.

Welcome to the TL family. The colour combination you chose is not available up here in Canada, or else I'd be driving a Firepepper Red/Parchment TL too. Congrats.

Bought it from Riddle Acura. Very nice buying experience there. They seem to know how to treat a customer. I was given the keys to a new MDX while I waited for my salesperson to finish a transaction. My wife and I really enjoyed it. It looks much different in person than in the magazines. We really pushed it hard and loved it. Our lease on our 4Runner expires next year, so maybe......

Too bad you can't get my color combination in Canada, seems ridiculous to me. If you are ever in the Norfolk area, swing by, I'll let you take it out for a drive. No problems with 1K on the odometer, still love it!
