Ignition switch replacement question

Hello. On my 99 type s, for some odd reason the ignition only clicks over once and will unlock my steering wheel and not go any more further.

I drove to a friends house, parked and came back and my key only turns so much to where steering wheels unlocks and then doesn't turn anymore,

My question is if I replace my ignition will I also have to change my immobilizer or is it built in with the switch.

Any help is needed. Thanks.

Nope the ignition switch is separate from the immobilizer ring, just replace the switch.

Yeah, as ErickUa5 said......the '99 TL's were notorious for ignition switches going bad, even after the recall had replaced the original switches.
