If you get springs do you NEED struts?

Hello,

I have an 03 TLS. I'm looking at getting some Eibach springs. Will stock struts be ok or do I need to get new struts too?

Thanks,

Joe

If you're doing it for cosmetics, you can get away without struts, but your handling will probably be worse than stock.

If you're doing it for handling, then get sways first and then if you get springs, I would probably get Tokico blue's at a minimum.

handeling WONT be worse than stock with just springs. it will be alot better. there are quite afew people with quite a few miles on there shocks that have been lowered. my last honda had 100k on the factory shocks with H&R springs on it and they were still fine.

for best performance springs, shocks then sways

Overall handling may be better but it will be better in some ways (stiffer) but worse in other ways (bouncier) so it's a tradeoff.

I guess we disagree on the sways. I've driven in cars with sways only and springs only and it's no contest IMO. Sways make a much bigger difference.

on our cars the sways are big to begin with. a drop will yield better results that and good tires

Not big enough. Trust me, I've driven both configurations; have you?

1. Sways - to tighten the rigidity
2. Springs - to lower
3. Shocks - firm up handling
