I think this is a transmission issue, video included. Please help

Hi guys,

Here's the video.

Basically I was driving through a drive-thru and the car sometimes has a loud ass rev and stays in drive at an idle rev of 2000. I managed to have it happen today, I don't do anything to invoke it, it just happens. I turned teh car on and off and taped it so you guys can see. Even in park it stays this high, with the AC on or off.I am pretty sure it's a transmission issue i'd like to re-affirm.

Thanks.

Video doesn't work. Why dont you upload to YouTube, Photobucket, imageshack, etc.

From what you're describing it could be a lot of things but doesn't sound like a transmission but more like the IACV (Idle Air Control Valve) than anything. How does it drive and shift?

Did you do anything before this or did it just all of a sudden happen while you were sitting there?

I'm certain it's not the IACV man the rev's don't fluctuate
THis thing just sits there. It's pissing me off and I want to know the problem so I can fix it because those techs at acura aren't gonna replace my tranny without me getting solid proof

they are happy to do it- but it has to have a transmission problem
Acura is not out to screw anyone with a legit failure out of anything- they still get paid to do it by acura- so its better than no work at all!
There are service techs- writers and managers that are ziners who can verify this- thats who told me!

Have you seen this symptom described anywhere about the trans?
have you had aamco test drive it?
You have an idle control issue- where its coming from could be the ECU or the TB or a bad motor mount!!! yes- some years are vac boosted motor mounts and when they go bad...

Get the codes checked for free at most parts stores and report back

Unless you had the intake/TB assembly off in your hand today and confirmed the IACV was clean and working fine- you have no proof of such- just because it was replaced means nothing
Replaced parts as likely or more so to fail again

How would the car idling at 2k be a trans problem? If i had to guess id say TPS sensor.
Is there a CEL?
