Cool I think I found the key

Hey Guys,

I am new here,

Recently got a 2002 TL-S as my first car and am loving it.

Recently have been researching on flip keys for our generation of TLs.

I found this one link you guys may like(if you haven't seen it by now)

It is a flip key fob for thr 1999-2001 TLs

The structure and fitment looks the same as the original remote.

Any comment on this?

I am still looking for one for the newer remote style. I may end up getting this and modifying it to fit the newer remote.

Thanks and let me know what you guys think!

Welcome AliX !!!
Yeah man, keep us updated on what ya come up with.
I prefer the old OEM "Fob", but if there's something else out there that will work, let us know.

Remember. This is just the casing for your old remote. You would have to get a key and place a transponder inside of it. There are a few guides you can use to check it out.

I have the 02-03 remote so I am trying to find if the remotes are the same internally.

Same here man.

On the topic of finding things, the problem is not the transponder, its the FCC ID for the remote.

There is a flip key for a 01 RSX due to having a very similar alarm system to the 04 TSX, TL, etc. The TL from 02-03 has the same alarm or very similar in nature to a 06 MDX.

I am still looking for a solution. I was thinking taking a 07 TL key and rigging it with a remote I have laying around. So basically, the old remote would be inside the new case and there would be no issues except not having a panic button possibly.

This project is definately do-able. I will keep you posted as I do more searching on this.

Thanks!
