I think I am going to.....

I think I am going to debadge my car tomorrow If I get it back from the dealer. I will post pics once I get it done hopefully I wont see any of the lettering in the sunlight. Nothing like making you car look like someone stole your ACURA and 3.2TL type S emblem LOL!

After I took off the Acura I noticed some of the lettering...but after a few washes it disappeared.

whats up w/everybody doing useless thread titles.
titles are supposed to be relevant to the thread subject.

i.e. "I think I am going to..."
doesnt tell you anything about the thread and most people who have less time than me would just skip right over it

i.e. "Debadging ACURA letters"
makes me think "hey i just did this. maybe i can help in his question." even though there is no question and you're just talking for some reason.

my 2 cents

btw congrats on thinking you're going to debadge!

The point of a forum is to talk...I don't see any issue with it. If people don't have time to mouse over the title and read the first few lines then they can come back when the do.

Anyway, let us know how it comes out. I've contemplated this for a while now. Just don't know if I really wanna do it or not.

I took off my 3.2 TL Type S and ended up putting on a 3G TL Type S badge on.

^ haha... you'll probably get it back tomorrow? anyway, after you debadge, remember to wax on, and wax off throughly... and to easily get the badges off, use some warm/hot water and pour it on to the badging and it will easly come right off =)

I just finished my de-badge this morning and had a hell of a time finishing the black glue.

I scratched the paint where I removed the first A.

Take your time and be patient...not everybody's comes off as easy.

Second time around and mine was a beotch!

I even had a heat gun...point being...

Take your time and don't apply too much scratching power when trying to get that last bit of glue.

Also...with repeated washes...I still see the faintest outline of my 3.2 Type S badge.

That's even after hitting with a Porter Cable and polishing compound.

My badges must have been baked on or something....

I would just go with a blow dryer...thats what I used on mine. Sometimes heat guns are just too strong..IMO.

it'll look really good

as for the thing about thread titles. it makes future searches easier. someone can search debadge and find threads whereas this one would not pop up unless you searched the entire thread, which would yield too many hits
