I think I am in big trouble !!
I was driving at least 100km/h in a 80km/h zone as I was pretty sure there wasn't any police car hiding behind bushes because there wasn't any. However, there was a black thing on the side. I thought it was just a debry so I didn't reduce my speed. But shit! After passing it, that piece of crap was attached to a wire -----> Damn it, it was a radar dectector. I didnt get caught at the scene. But I am afraid that they will fine me by sending me a letter in a week or 2. I am so worried now..

It could have been photo radar, in Sherwoodpark Alberta they have a photo radar that looks like a box that they put on the side of the road and take pictures of speeding cars

think of it this way... cop radars and lasers read 5 under, so you got clocked at 15over at most...if it was at night then it wasnt a radar unless you saw a BADASS flash behind you and if it was during the day then your screwd IF it was a radar, but i've never heard of such units on the side of road...what if it was a construction something, you'll never know untill you go back, get down and beat it up. Good luck buddy.

What your problem is?
I hate that about Canada.... These assholes have the photo things all over the place... I got a ticket there once and still have not paid for it. All my buddies are just telling me not to get caught in Canada again and I should be fine.... if a stay clean then I will be okay...
Don't Canadians have the right to question and be confronted by your accuser? That is what makes photo radar a joke in the U.S. The machine can't come to court and therefore the case is thrown out.... Happened to me twice in Detroit (back in my college days). I fought the tickets and they were both thrown out....

no, aparrently the rules are different where you are, but here it doesn't matter who is driving. if it's your car, it's your ticket.
that's why you allow people you don't trust to borrow your car.

That happened to me in NJ, but the next day I drove by and saw it was a counter. There's a lot of those around to see how many cars use that road in a certain amount of time. I'm pretty sure it's gonna be a counter and your just freaking yourself out.

oh yeah....even if it was a speed trap, I don't think they are going to waste their time with going a few miles/km over the limit. Hardly worth the trouble for them.

No worry. Those wires are for counting how many vehicles that have passed the street. Sometime the county/city is doing research on road condition based on the amount of traffic passing by.
Just my $0.02.

Have you actually gotten a photo radar ticket? At least here, they give you the ticket, and if it wasn't you driving, you have to get the person responsible to sign off saying it was them driving.
