Are the cooling fans working ? You can test by turning on the AC then look under the hood for the operation of both fans, Both should be on.
After repairing the leak burp the cooling system.

With the car idling, rad cap off (engine cold), heater valve open (heater temperature setting on hot) and then just wait til the fans come on at least twice.
However, before you burp the cooling system sounds like you need to replace the rad since it's leaking.
Get rad and rad cap from... rockauto.com
BTW open the heater valve during draining and filling of the coolant.
Also replace the rad cap if its older than 7 years.
Use honda/acura coolant only.

Get a new radiator first. Amazon has Denso ones for about $100. Get a some Honda coolant there too while you're at it.

i just replaced my radiator on a rx400h after a leak.
you need to be more descriptive to get actual help as there could be many remedies.
First, get a new radiator and upper/lower hoses. Make sure they have well fitting clamps.
-bleed your old radiator and remove. google for the image or youtube. its right in front on either side and has a finger turn knob at finger strength. no tools.
-remove clamps, remove hose, lift old radiator out, slide new radiator in.
If it's still leaking. take it to a shop because it won't get any easier than replacing a radiator, if you know how.

That's it?
So before I even start the car (after its sat all night);
I remove radiator cap,
turn on the heater[90 deg setting at max setting],
and then just start the car until both fans cycle on and off twice?

no!! thats about half of what you have to do!
see owner book or our diy section- requires cabin temp set to full hot- cabin fan running ON FULL BLAST speed
idle till fan cycles- then 2000 rpm till cycles- idle - 2000 yadayada
there is some point where it is held at 2000 thru 2 fan cycle of on and off, and more!
MAKE SURE the hose inside cap to res bottle is firmly attached to cap- zip tie it on!!
no owner book? register as owner with acura care and get free download Acura Owners Site | Exclusive Knowledge, Service, & Benefits need cars VIN and can ck for recalls on the site too!

Ok so here's what to do properly.
Put the AC on to see if both of your fans are working first. Then turn the AC off once you see that they are going on.
After replacing the thermostat you need to bleed the system with the cap off of the rad. Put the temp on hot with the fan speed on level 1 with the AC off. Have the direction to the feet. Let it idle for a bit until the engine warms up for 5-10 mins then hold the throttle at 2,000 rpm until the fans turn on. When they do its because you cycled the cooling system. Hot air should be coming through the vents you can even put the air to come at you just make sure it doesn't engage the defrost. Sometimes will take 15-20 mins for the fans to engage in colder weather.
Also if your rad is leaking you will need to replace it. Topping off the coolant is ok until you do it. If your car has continuously overheated you most likely blew the head gasket and will need to replace it because it will blow your new rad apart. Usually rads can only handle about 15-20 psi and when a head gasket goes you will have 80-100psi going to the Rad. Also letting it continuously overheat will warp your engine parts too.
After you've done this road test the car to make sure it's all good.
Also make sure the nipple on the thermostat is the same way you took it off.

The shop manual says this (after instructions for draining/filling coolant):
- Install radiator cap loosely
- Start engine and let it run until it warms up (the radiator fan comes on at least twice)
- Turn off the engine. Check the level in the radiator, and add Honda All Season Antifreeze/Cooland Type 2 if needed.
- Put the radiator cap on tightly, then run the engine again and check for leaks.
