Post I need more space/room in my TL!

I sat in the back of an RL recently and I kept thinking I need this larger interior room in my 99TL. Images of my friends and family whining to me to move up my seat and being cramped in the back come to mind.

Have you ever noticed the following:

1. Nissan Maxima probably has a slightly larger interior than my TL, however the ceiling is higher, so it gives you that more room feeling.

2. Toyota Avalon - Eventhough this car is strictly for old people ;-), the rear seats are SPACIOUS. It's like another room in your house back there (for your reference our TLs are the same length or a little than the Avalon).

I have come to conclusion that I simply need to make more money so I can afford a Lexus GS430 or BMW 5 Series. In the meantime I hope the next TL will have more interior room.

My venting has concluded.

See you came from the other end.

When I bought my TL I was looking at the A4 and the 3-series. Both of them costing about $8,000 more and classified as "compact" where our TL is "mid-size".

I sat in the back of an IS300 yesterday, and had to keep my lower legs straight up.

To me, our leg-room is awesome.

I see what you are saying though because my father has an MB S430 and that thing has some hella-cool leg room in the back.

Adamyankee,

I see what you are saying, compared to those other models, especially that small IS300 (civic size), the TL has good room. I saw the IS300 recently and it looks good, but seems like a subcompact car size.

We'll see if Acura does something different with the interior for the next revamp. I keep hearing conflicting details that early 2002, they will release the revamped 2003 version TL & TL Type S or the 2004 version will be the revamped year.

Hell, someone over here says that this fall, Acura will release the 6 speed manual version of the TL, which seems kind of doubtful as well as hopeful.

I got no family and I sometimes wish that my car is smaller... Maybe something like the Volvo S60 in terms of size and space. But I was considering the IS, 323, and A4. Now compare to those, my car is HUGE. And that's what my friends always told me.

BTW, anyone notice that the Accord actually have more legroom at the back. Somehow Acura increased the truck space and move the rear seat foward... Maybe they wanted to increase the headroom? I don't know.....

Hey guys, 5'10" here so I guess that is average height, but I think the car has enough room for just me and another person, but when you put people in the backseat, such as family, friends and clients that is when you start hearing complaints.

But hey I enjoy this car very much so can't have it all. I still want a TYPE S, my 99TL is just getting old! :-)

BahreeTL,

I think your approach solves all the need for more room in the TL! I like that one!

It's all about the driver!

How Tall are u AcuraGuyNJ? It seems that u might be taller then the average person, that's why you need more room. Well, I don't have a family and I rarely have someone in the backseat. I think the TL has too much room for me. But you do have a family.

hell yeah, it's all about the driver. i didn't pay $30,000 for my passengers! if they wanted more leg room, they can chip in to buy a MB S500.

I'm 6'7" and fit comfortably in the car. No one can sit behind me, though... but no big deal. Passengers = cargo

RA ADAMS,

6'7"? WOW! If that's true I hope you have a SUV or truck as the other car in your household. The TL is way too small for you, but I do admire your TL loyalty too. :-)

Amazing what people will do to get a TL.

im 6'1, sitting in the back of an m5 for a few hours is not fun. much smaller than the tl

also i find that the accord has more room. possibly because the seats are thicker in the tl

My TL has enough room for ME. No kids and all my friends are short, so I'm good to go. I have a big trunk if anyone ever needs more room.

You know what, after posting this topic, to heck with the space, I love my TL. If I wanted more space, I should have bought a bus!

The TL is just the right size, however give me an RL Type S and I am all over that and the more space :-)
