I lucked out with my tranny

About halfway home from the beach this past week, I start going from a stoplight and when I get to shifting point my car goes into neutral. About 5 seconds later, it slams back into gear spinning both of my front tires. It proceeds to do this throughout all 3 shifts until i can thankfully cruise in 4th. I put it into SS when im in 4th so it wont downshift or anything that would make it "slip" again. But, alas, every stoplight or slowdown i encounter i get honked at and harassed for not being able to accelerate normally, making it look like i dont know how to drive a stick worth ****. Anywho, i drive straight to Leith Acura in Cary, NC and drop the ***** off. I have a 99 with 85k and im thinking im gonna be paying out the ass for this, and i take all my anger out with my family (yes i know i have a problem:p ) I get a call this morning at my office, and the guy is telling me im in luck. He then says that my tranny does need replacing, but just a couple of weeks ago Acura extended the transmission warranty to 100k miles, due to "many related issues" to mine. Im sitting here thanking the good Lord for this and he tells me that the tranny will take about a week to arrive and then about 2-3 business days of labor cost-free. Now did I luck out or what?!?!?

No luck. Acura has a faulty tranny in their 99+ models and issued an extended warranty earlier in the year. At least you have the M5 to play with!

Yes the service dept. manager called Acura and they told him that just recently (2 weeks or so ago) that Acura extended they 99's warranty to 100,000 miles, covering me with about 15,000 to spare. I'm not gonna ask to many questions to these guys because right now they are doing it for free and I don't want to interfere with that. Oh, and my family doesnt take it to personal .
