You're one lucky mo'fo! Maybe you better post the contents of that letter so that your TL bros can see what we're missing!

Congrats on your windfall,

Acura made a mistake. It was suppose to be sent to my house. So put the check back in the letter and mail it to my house asap.

I believe that is a tax rebate check from the Bush Administration...people who bought heavy tax items saw rebate checks...for example, my sister bought a 2001.5 Passat GLX for around 31K and got around 200 dollars back...I believe this is for purchases made around 4-5 months ago...

rominl,
I am paying for my California registration this month.. and I noticed that the amount for this year is about $196 less than what I paid wen I purchased it at the dealer.. could it possibly be the difference you paid for registration being refunded to you??

oh it could be the tax rebate then, i bought my car on 7/9.

Edub-TL, umm, not sure though, i won't be paying my next registration until next june, so i think it's different things? and i think you always pay less and less reg fee on your cars over the yrs?

umm, got the check today and there is really NOTHING written on it except the amount.... but from what SinnedTL said, it could be the tax rebate. it's fun to have couple of bucks in your pocket for mods

You sound like me...I got $200 from winning some contest at Acura I never entered...got two emails about it and a signed letter Too bad service sucks so much over here in Austin, most of the service people (aside from the very congenial service manager) make me feel like I should be ashamed to bring in my car for the power seats not working etc...

Yo, how much were those tags of yours if you don't mind me asking. I' got mine coming up soon... I guess from January to June DMV was refunding after renewal 67%, and Davis said why not refund when they buy the tags by discounting 67% up front, so us Cali folk should see a discount right away instead of waiting for a refund check. My question though is when you bought your TL did you get a check from DMV that followed it refunding you your 67% more you paid at the dealership? If I remember right you bought your TL just before I did.

I just renewed mine for my 01 Tl and it was $207. Started out at $546 then there was a VLF offset for $339. Don't remember what this was for, but it said "see insert" but i didn't look at it was just really happy the reg fee was so low.

Speaking of CA reg fees, I thought I heard somewhere on the radio that they're thinking about removing the registration fee deduction due to the fact that CA's budget surplus is shrinking due to the current economy.

If true, better enjoy those low reg fees while they last...

I got mines December 9 of last year. Nope, no refund check ever came..
This year, it's costing about $204 to register..
When I bought the car, I think it was a bit over $400
