That's not that big of a deal, either use rubbing alcohol or goo gone. Then get a good polish and buff it out. It might take a few times with each.

It's supposed to look like that. Buff it off with polish. Those emblems have been on the car for quite a long time.

WD-40 is great and will not harm the surface.
Follow up with a good wipe down and then re wax the area.
