I just got a new 01 TL Black/Black
I'm sure that there are hundreds of posts like this one, but I just have to share my expereince with everyone. I test drove the TL Type-S today, and I must say it has a lot of power, but the regular TL is more comfortable, and I like the 01 body better, and they gave me a good deal =D! Couldnt be happier!!!

Congrats and welcome to our TL family! 
BTW, I think the grill on the 2002 TL/TL-S is ugly anyway. I like the 99-01 grill better. I am sure a lot of guys agree with me on this one.

Welcome aboard!!! Prepared to be addicted to this forum..... heh.... what part of Htown you from? Alief kneegro rah hea!!! Get it from Sterling Mccall? I know they got a crap load of 2001 models that they are tryin to push out of the lot. They freaking had to hide the TLS in the back...

yes, welcome to the board. I too just purchased a nighthawk black 01' TL. Only 3 1/2 weeks old I might add and I have already ordered the following:
-WW flush mount spoiler
-Comptech springs
-Xpel Clearbra paint protection system

It's Nighthawk black with Ebony int. non-navi, I paid about 27K (after TTL down payment and trade in and financing, I don't remember the bottom line, probably means I lost something in there 
)
What else was asked, Epiphyte does come from biology, and is the name of a company in a book I'm currently reading, so it was on my mind. Means a organism that lives on another w/o harming the host (non-parasitic) (like Spanish Moss growing on trees).
And I live on the West side of town inside the loop.
I think that covers the questions. The next thing I'm going to do is get the windows tinted, and then I may start looking into after market mods, but I don't know, I'm pretty hapy with it the way it is.
