I hate this high and mighty bullsh!t that people talk. All of you have driven above the speed limit at some point or done something stupid in a car before. Its the ****ing people that talk on the phone, doing their makeup, eating breakfast or reading the paper that are a hazard.

kgoessling, you are a fool. check your grammAr before you call someone out on it.

Spoon, I hear your point about being disappointed but it sounds like you could have done a little more research and saved yourself the hassle. I love the TLS for what it is and expected it to be. Sometimes I wish I had a sportier car but you give and take with all cars. IS might handle better, but leaves a little bit to be desired in terms of interior and straight-line acceleration. ES3 is nicer interior-wise but lacks sportiness. G35 has performance but priced a little more and in my opinion lacks a little in the interior. and so and so forth. I respect your opinion so take mine for what its worth.

I did 1 mod to my car that went a long way - New wheels and tires !!! Try it

Cost ONLY 1 Grand, the Stock tires suck, especially after about 25,000 miles

Toyo 225-45-17 do a world of handling difference alone !!!!

:wow:

Stock the car is kind of floaty... but it's a TL. Yes you got the sporty version... but all that does is tighten up the ride ever so slightly... and adds 35hp. Just b/c it's the "sports" version doesn't mean it's a sports car. It's still marketed towards people over 40 just like the TL-P is... so if you want the car to handle right... mod it.....
JuniorBean couldn't have said it better. You certianly took the time to mod your Civic......essentially tuning your ride to meet your tastes. Do you remember how your Civic felt when you first purchased it?

This is one of them '"I see!" said the blind man' kinda moments.

Spoon,

When you do your road test make sure you have a medi-vac helicopter nearby to scrape you off the road and take you to the hospital.

What makes you think I would drop $20k+ on a Nissan? Just wait a year and get a used one for $10k. Lol. The Z is a cool car though...

RE: SOUTHERN STATE PARKWAY

I know what you mean in comparison to a Prelude, which is what I drove before I got my TL...BUT....the Prelude is (was{sniff}) a somewhat cramped sports car; the TL is a luxury four-door sedan that weighs almost a thousand pounds more. No large sedan is gonna be like a Prelude. Sometimes I miss the handling of the Prelude but most of the time I stretch out on those leather seats and practically fall asleep they're so comfortable! It's a trade-off.

Gotta agree. Stock TL-S does not handle that well. I remember how difficult it was for me to keep up with a friend of mine in a modded Civic. In the moderately heavy traffic he was waving and jumping between cars and I just could not stay with him. When the road cleared I told myself - now it is my time - but I was not so. By that moment he had something like 8-10 car lengths advantage on me. Just as I started catching up the stability assist kicked in at about 120 mph when we were going around a corner. Lousy tires lost traction and by the time they regain it my friend was gone. Later that year (2002) I traded my 1 year old TL-S to a BMW 540ia w/sport package. In the similar situation I was able to stay on Civic's tail all the time and when the road cleared I just stepped on the gas pedal and easily lost the Civic. Acceleration-wise above 100mph Civic even modded was not even close to 540.

As for the handling stuff you mentioned... I'm happy now that I lowered the car and put on 18's. Even before I modded it it handled pretty well. Now it's just that much better.
But the TL rattles and creaks like nothing else. I had an A4 and it was so solid, no rattles or nothing. the ONLY thing that pissed me off about it besides the tepid 190hp) was some noise from something getting stuck in between the steering wheel and the dash, and that wasnt even that bad.
My tl-s makes some noise when i give it a little bit of gas. its some sort of whine/groan (which is supposedly normal for the car) but boy does it piss me off. the car's price is low for a reason! at times i wish i dropped $59k on the sweet deal that the BMW dealer cut me for a brand new 540i Sport, instead of the type-s!

Hey twenty 03 type-S,

On your 03 S-Type what is the part number for the H&R OE springs? 51858-55? what is the drop in the front and rear?
Is it what H&R advertise. H&R claim that this part number was meant for 1999 to 2001 TL only. If it worked for you and the drop is what they claim I would like to look into it.
