I got rear ended last night.. I have damage on passenger rear section. I had to wait about 2 hours before LAPD showed up because the guy ran away.

Actually, we pulled in to parking lot & I asked for his info. He refused to give me the info(said he'll give me CASH??) Yeah, that's good, but let me get your info first.
He still didn't listen. About a couple of minute, he just started the engine & tried to pull out. Right at the time, I wrote his license plate, but it was raining so hard that I am not sure if I wrote it correctly.

I had the same thing happen to me. A guy hit me, offered me cash, but I was still able to get his info. The only bad thing is that he gave me the wrong phone number. I guess I have to call the insurance.....

Should of took the cash and then ask for his info again. I hope you have full coverage, and just let the insurance company do their thing.

Don't EVER accept the cash!! In a court of law that can be seen as a COMPLETE payment of debt. If you have unknown injuries or damage to your car that is found later your screwed.

Insurance companies have entire law firms on retainer just for stuff like this.

I feel your pain. I got rear ended several weeks ago near my school and the other driver refused to give me his information. Since I couldn't physically force him to give me his information, I had to let him go since the cops decided not to come since there were no injuries. I got my revenge back anyways by vandalizing his vehicle several days later since he parks on the same block everyday...

LAPD run the license plate & came as different type of truck(FORD) so I guess I got it wrong.


A couple of officer that I know helping me finding correct license plate# by playing last 5 numeric numbers(because I know the first 2 for exact).

shlt i hate mofo's like that. hopefully your description of his car will help the cops narrow it down. but you didn't try stopping him from leaving the scene? and why the hell did you have to wait 2hrs for the cops??

The accident happened at the border of El Segundo city & Los Angeles. EL SEGUNDO PD did came out to the scean about 15 mins later but told me it's not their area. He transfer me to LAPD but the dispatcher send the officer to different location(I guess there is same cross street in different city). And fianlly black & white came from N.Hollywood which is about 20 miles away.

(this is coming from a 16 year old "asian punk" lol) Just get his license plate number, call the cops, get his insurance, whatever. Dont resort to revenge..well at least to his car..cuz that'll get u in trouble. Now a lil pushing and shoving in the hallway, thats fine =P

I got revenge by keying the bumpers of his car so it would look like he scratched it himself while parking and that it wouldn't be obvious that there was vandalism. It wasn't long key marks, just scratches about an inch. Made me feel better after I did that to his car. I wasn't about to let that guy off the hook for scratching my vehicle. He scratches my car, so I scratch his. I don't see anything wrong with that.

Sorry to hear this, Songoku. This happened to me before. Before I was able to grab my pen and paper to exchange info, the ***** took off. Even the sheriff who witnessed the incident was not able to catch the witch. Nevertheless, I've learned my lesson. Next time I get into a fender bender, I have a one-time use camera stashed in me center console for emergencies like for documentation purposes.
