Well, my TL-S is still mothballed at the dealer (5 weeks now). Still no sign of a tranny.
I got them to take back the crappy Cavalier that smelled like cigarettes, and they gave me a Chevy Van. That was actually pretty nice, but the windshield wipers decided to go to war and pull themselves off the windshield (an ugly sight), so now I have an Oldsmobile Aurora 3.5L. And hey, it's not bad!
When I got it, I had no idea it was an American car, as it does not look or feel like one. I was SHOCKED when I got out and looked at the trunk and it said "Oldsmobile"!!!
It is not too bad. It has a few more bells and whistles than the TL-S, but it is not as fast. The inside is leather with full instrumentation, but no navi. The stereo has real nice controls, but sounds like crap. It handles fairly well. I was totally unaware that this car existed. I rarely pay attention to U.S. cars.
Considering that this is a Detroit car, it's pretty damn nice. However, it is not a TL....... It does have one thing that my TL-S does not, however, that makes it much better. IT HAS A FREAKING TRANSMISSION THAT WORKS!!!!!![Big Grin](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

it's out of their hands because it's a manufacturing issue that they can't get the tranny (or something like that)
if they can't fix it in 30 days for reasons not related to availability of parts, then it qualifies

I've had the Aurora as a rental car, and I agree with you that it's not too bad at all. I think that Oldsmobile was finally catching onto what is necessary to succeed in the American market, and now GM has canceled the whole product line. The cars still had a ways to go in terms of refinement, but as far as styling and features they were coming along nicely. Oh, well!
